Holy! Crap!

Okay so I signed up for this blog thing in hopes of recieving a scholarship. And correct me if Im wrong, the blogs are supposed to be based on current events that effect teens, right?
Well, i know that i have already posted a few that are on religion and how i ponder the whole thing, as well as several of the other bloggers. And then im also reading about some that are really proud and want to stand for what they believe in. Which is great, good for you. But at the same time,im thinking i dont really care. But dont take offense to that. So anyways as im reading these, im thinking wow these people have some good points going on! But then i read the comments posted and then i wonder if i signed up for the right thing or not. Its like a big debate about religion going on. Personally, im no longer a religious person, but i do respect others and their beliefs. As much as i realize these are all things that effect a teen, like myself, i think some people should just read what others have to say and not think that they are being judged. I mean cause even if you are, does it really matter in the end???
I think everyone knows the right answer to that, so i dont know, just give it a break...

I too, signed up in hopes of a scholarship. And I get your point about religion. But as an agnostic Religion Studies minor, I always enjoy learning about a religion from the perspective of the layman. However, in terms of fighting, yes. I am all for equality and coexistence. You have a good point

I too signed up for a scholarship (so I guess let the best man/woman win) but either way maybe I'm just to blond and oblivious to notice, but I haven't noticed alot of religion. However, that also could be because I believe that if we want to discuss topics we need to set religion aside, because when it comes to religion no one ever wins. I am a Christian, but when it comes to politics or current events I have to push all of my religion based thoughts off to one side and focus on the real reason I'm for or against something, and why I think God would be for or against something. We shouldn't be arguing something by saying flatly "....because God said it's wrong/right" or "...there is no such thing as God." We need to leave religion out of these discussions, because when you start talking religion, no one wins, because religion isn't something felt with your head, but with your heart, and when you're thinking with you're heart. you can't be as easily changed.

I like the way you think. Happy Dance

We do have a bunch of religion blogs that pop up every once and a while. I'm a big participator in them because I enjoy them.
You probably haven't noticed much because the recent blog posts list is being flooded.

There are a lot of other topics out there- war, child abuse, civil rights, college application procedures, you name it. Go dig around, there's something for everyone.
cheers
