Are we the real life version of 50 First Dates?

Bush seems to think we are.

First they were for torture before they said they weren't for turture before they admitted that "Torture is a no brainer..." But I seem to recall when torture was just "a few bad apples."

But now read this NYT's article.

WASHINGTON: The Central Intelligence Agency has acknowledged for the first time the existence of two classified documents, including one signed by President George W. Bush, that have guided the agency's interrogation and detention of terror suspects.
(snip)
The contents of the documents were not revealed, but one document, as described by the ACLU, is "a directive signed by President Bush granting the CIA the authority to set up detention facilities outside the United States and outlining interrogation methods that may be used against detainees."
The second document, according to the group is a Justice Department legal analysis "specifying interrogation methods that the CIA may use against top Al Qaeda members
.

Uh..huh! Only a few bad apples. They were right! The bad apples are the ones on top...Bush and Cheney and the Rubberstamping Republicans.

And this is the same regime who the Rubberstamping Republicans and a few chicken Democrats opted to give the power of the Military Commissions Act of 2006.

Don't sweat it.

Read this article to see how the military trubunals unfolded and may have been the reason we now know exactly WHO the BAD APPLES are.

When President Bush announced in September that he was transferring 14 men suspected of heinous acts of terrorism to Guantánamo Bay, his aim was baldly political — to stampede Congress into passing a profoundly flawed law that set up military tribunals to try “illegal enemy combatants” and absolved U.S. officials of liability for illegally detaining and torturing prisoners.
But that cynical White House move may also have unintentionally provided the loose thread to unravel the secrecy and lawlessness that have cloaked the administration’s handling of terrorism suspects.

This is truly sickening the levels of secrecy, deception and vindictiveness this regime has. They are completely unlawful.

Yet, we're suppose to be in the movies now and pretend we forget everythign that happened before and think of every "new" truth as NEW.  We've always been at war with Eastasia.  This governments attempts to rewrite history, and cheat our institution make me sick.

This goes under the heading of "They think you're stupid."

Just disgusting.  PLEASE tell me that Germany is carrying through with those human rights lawsuits?!  Its moments like this that i cannot believe this is what america has become.
