GET A LIFE! seriously.

DONT DEPEND ON A GUY TO MAKE YOU HAPPY! THEYRE ALL EGOTISTICAL SELF-RIGHTEOUS, CHAUVINISTS!

I wrote this poem because I had just learned what it was like to be independent.  Too many of us girls depend on guys to bring us happiness, to make us worth something. You're worth something to your family, your friends, and to God. They love you, and care about you, you make them happy when you smile.  And although your boyfriend is happy when you smile, and says that he loves you, he has the ability to break your heart over and over and over again, so stick with the people who love you always.

Going through rehab...
Current mood: moody and feministic

I can live without you

my withdrawls aren't so bad

your injections leave me sobbing

so I'd rather not live with that again

you're my drug

my unending supply of momentary happiness

with pitfalls and endless sorrow

one day you'll make me beautiful

but now you never cease to tear me apart

you make my heart attack itself

and rip it all to shreds

then with one word,

piece it back together again

why I let you in

I don't want to discuss 'til morning

for now I'm at rest just pondering

what might have happened in moments past

why I should've kept you at bay

instead of letting you into my blood.

you're like my drug

an unending supply

of everything I ever wanted

but never needed.

So for now I say to you, boy,

stay away from my heart

my needle is still wet from your last dose

"...THEYRE ALL EGOTISTICAL SELF-RIGHTEOUS, CHAUVINISTS!"

Wow, even I'm a bit offended...and I'm a girl :/

The poem is pretty decent though.

^I agree with the first statement. Don't generalize.

the title was really just so you'd actually read the poem. haha, if i just wrote as the title "A poem i wrote" why would anyone read it?

This is true. You cant have a healthy relationship unless you feel good about yourself. And if your boyfriend brings you down, get rid of him.

But all guys arent like that.. you just havent found the right one yet.

I disagree with the caps lock portion, but I believe (personally) that females need to be stable before all else. Look to yourself for happiness. If it's others you desperately need, there's family. Throwing yourself onto others isn't going to make you happy- and knights on white horses expired hundreds of years ago (not to mention, of themselves were heroes historicly for the financial stability they brought) along with the black plague.

Not to mention if someone's emotionally shredding a person like that they obviously don't love them. Would you hurt someone you loved? I agree, get a life.

"I don't care" ....
is a serious misreading of my attitude.

i agree to some extent. guys CAN hurt you... as can anyone else you're close to. friends even more so in certain situations. but i used to have the mindset of not getting close to anyone, and that hurts just as bad as allowing yourself to be vulnerable.

I think the wording could be a bit different but I agree with you to a certain extent...

Yeah, I sometimes feel bad talking about something sweet my boyfriend did for me around my best friend, because she is single and has had like five bad relationships. I keep telling her that she doesn't need a guy to be happy, but she doesn't believe me. So, every now and then, we dress a little more provocatively than normal and we go to the mall and pretend we're both single. LOL It's pretty funny.

"A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle."

That's a great quote from a t-shirt. Very true.

The first part just reminds me of someone ranting so why doesn't everyone stop focusing on that part and focus on the content--the poem. You're poem was good, easy to follow, and you did a good analogy, i think that is what it's called. But the ref. to the drug use is good....it added a good touch:) Good job and keep writting, it's an easy way to get things out!

The first line is pretty harsh - after the not depending on men for happiness advice as that is actually good advice, but I'm guessing you're just venting after being hurt. Not all guys are like that! You'll find your soul mate, usually right after you give up looking!
