I'm not saying "Sex" just to get your attention.

But it worked, didn't it?
This is the world in which we live.
You can't turn on the tv, listen to the radio, read the newspaper, you can't even walk outside your door without being bombarded by this nation's obsession with sex.
It's literally everywhere.
If you don't believe me, just tune in to the Superbowl and just try to argue with me after watching one segment of commercials.
Listen to the radio; if it's not the music that's somehow referring to sex, then it's the advertisements.
Pick up a magazine. Pages and pages and pages are devoted to "How To Be A Better Lover!" or "48 New Ways To Please Your Man (And You)!"
This is the world in which we live.
It's not something sacred anymore.
We're constantly being bombarded with this message of "Sex! Sex! Sex!" It's being screamed at us from every angle.
We are a nation obsessed.
And it's taking it's toll.
Think about it. Rape and other sexual- and domestic-abuse crimes are up. I promise you, it is not by chance. Women are persistently being made into objects, objects only good for one thing.
And it starts with an s.
And let's not overlook the uprise of eating disorders and negative body image our youth are plagued with. Think it's random? Think again.
I'm not going to sit here and say that there's something wrong with sex, because there certainly isn't. But when it's all we can think about when we go about our day, that's when there's a problem. When it becomes an obsession.

So how do we counter it? In a world that bombards us with sex everywhere we go, what do we do?
We be the best we can be.
Women, be happy with your bodies. To think that to be a size zero is happiness is complete idiocy. Almost no one can achieve that goal. We can do our part to be healthy, but for crying out loud, starving yourself and subjecting yourself to nips and tucks to get the "perfect body" is a futile effort. Think the best of your minds, as well. You are not inferior to men. You can achieve anything that you want; that's the beauty of this country. The only one who can stand in your way is you.
Men, respect and cherish the women in your life. They complete you, and you need to treat them accordingly. Deragatory slang is NOT ok. It is the first step, no matter how miniscule, to abuse -- if you tell yourself she is a slut or a whore, if you tell yourself that she's just a body to be used, than it's easier for you to treat her as such. There is a shrinking number of gentlemen in today's world; be the bigger man and appreciate and love women for who they are.

We can make a difference. All it takes is an attitude adjustment.

and not to mention idiocy, it is for some biologically imposible to be a zero so they will nearly kill themselves trying if not fully succeed....

You're exactly right. It's a goal almost no one can reach without dying. Which doesn't seem worth it, but perhaps it's just me.
