what makes fighting so desirable in schools

Two weeks ago a boy about the same age as me decided to fight me: the conversation went something like this.
hey dip shit, after school okay?
can you put that in a complete sentence please
don't be a smart ass, because ill kill you
that would me murder
you are not going to live till tomorrow
watch me

and so after school came and i forgot all about it, which turns out so did everyone else.
On face book, that boy started making death threats again and i decided to ask what did i do to inflect this anger upon him. he replied, " why don't you find out for yourself."

you see I'm not fortune teller by any means, so i deleted him from my friends list

i have this belief that peace is always the right way to settle problems. America and Russia settled the cold war without fighting, so why can't some teenagers, with a little too much hormones settle a dispute.

most would believe that it was the violence in movies that cause this wave of violence in schools, and they may be right. but preventing violence from children is harder than brain surgery on a fruit fly.

what i was trying to get out of this blog was the fact that fighting is the cave men's way of solving problems, and we as the human race have past that stage quite along time ago, i don't see a point in going backwards.

People who want to fight tend to try to prove something by doing that. In doing so, they are ignorant about the futility of such a stupid thing as the consequences are severe. Where I go to school, fighting is easily provoked but does not happen too often, but the main reason there is simply because some people feel like they are trying to prove something and the only way they can do it is through physical aggression as it is the only way they see of solving the problem.

At my high school, people most likely faught for the attention. Students would gather around the fight, egging the participants on. Eventually, a teacher would step in to stop it. Then, of course, everyone would be talking about it for the next day or two. Once, a video of the fight found its way onto Myspace. I can sorta see the the appeal of being the center of attention, but because you got in a fight seems to be an embarrassing way to go.

I understand they have issues to solve, but if that was the only reason, then they most likely would have chosen a more private way to solve it. Of course, there are always those who have no self control.
