So
Its getting close to presidential election time.
We all know its comming.
The news stations are constantly giving updates on each canidate and spreading out the latest gossip.
2008
its a big year for me..
I graduate..
I turn 18..
And I get to vote in a very important election.
I am following the canidates, making some decisions about who I believe would be best for the country, and who I agree with.
Some days I look around my school at others my age and think.."My vote is going to count just like their vote.."
It can be a very depressing thought.
It seems so many people just aren't interested in our government.
They are ignorant and its sad.
I know people who plan on voting, yet know nothing about the canidates or the issues.
I have a "nameless friend" who is planning to vote for Hillary Clinton becuase she feels sorry for her becuase of what her husband did.
That's ignorant.
I don't claim to know everything about the canidates or their views...
But when it comes time for me to vote..
I WILL BE CONFIDENT!
I will know who fits with my views and my hopes for the country...
I hope that many of you are able to say the same...
We have the freedom to vote...To choose our government...
So get out and vote...
If you don't vote don't complain when things don't go your way..

I was in the same situation in 2004. I had just turned 18 and was super excited to vote. There were a handful among my class who were registered as well and I can't tell you how depressed I was when I heard someone say they were voting for Kerry because he was hotter... Politics are a tough issue for me, not my favorite to discuss but I always follow and I too would like to think I'm an educated voter.
Good luck with this.
