I have recently been feeding my love of politics by researching the potential presidential candidates. If any of you out there in cyberland even dream of THINKING about voting for Mike Huckabee, please rethink. This guy makes W. look like a saint. He compared homosexuals to pedophiliacs (think Michael Jackson) and necropheliacs (they more than SEE dead people!).
And I quote from “Kids Who Kill,” in 1998: “It is now difficult to keep track of the vast array of publicly endorsed and institutionally supported aberrations–from homosexuality and pedophilia to sadomasochism and necrophilia."
Then he tries to back up in an interview, saying he was just saying they're all outside the normal formula for a relationship. GOV. HUCKABEE: "Well, what I was pointing out is all of these are deviations from what has been the traditional concept of sexual behavior and men and women having children, raising those children in the context of a, of a traditional marriage and family. And, again, taken out of the larger context of that book, speaking about how so many of our social institutions have been broken down."
Bullshit, buddy. People who sleep with corpses and lust after children are certifiably fucked up. Those children and bodies do not consent, unlike two grown adults who are in love with each otherHe then goes on to say that he believes it's a sin, but everyone sins so it's not like he's calling the LGBT community out for it... Mmmhmmm.
GOV. HUCKABEE: Tim, understand, when a Christian speaks of sin, a Christian says all of us are sinners. I’m a sinner, everybody’s a sinner. What one’s sin is, means it’s missing the mark. It’s missing the bull’s eye, the perfect point. I miss it every day; we all do. The perfection of God is seen in a marriage in which one man, one woman live together as a couple committed to each other as life partners. Now, even married couples don’t do that perfectly, so sin is not some act of equating people with being murderers or rapists…"
You, sir, are a twat and need to simply be gone. Period. He then goes on to rant about how horrible abortion is and blah blah. Personally, I would never have an abortion....even if there was a chance of me getting pregnant, which there's not.... but my p-o-v is that of "who am I to inflict my values on someone else?" If this woman can sleep at night after an abortion, who am I to stop her? Seriously, these old white male lawmakers are bloody hypocrites. They denounce abortions as the work of the devil, yet they don't want to improve our social programs for single mothers to even give these women the option of supporting said fetus. So basically, go to hell for eternity or allow the child to be taken away later because you can't feed it...wonderful. Get back to me when you have viable solutions and stop the name calling.
The scary thing is, this man is gaining ground on McCain. This former minister who believes that state and religion go together like cookies and milk. I have no personal vendetta against religion...not fond of it making people do crazy things, but hey, if it's your thing, rock on...but adding it in with state politics is just asking for crazy fundamentalists to do crazy ass things "in the name of God." While the titel of this entry is dramatic, it's quite the truth; this man was apart of a group that took out a full page add in the NY Times calling for women to be subservent to their husbands (his wife signed too! Such a good little slave...). He has already said that Homosexuals are on the same level as child molestors and murders. So, lesbians....we're prettty much screwed. Seriously. I haven't heard any racist comments from him, but I'll get back to you on that.
Anyway, I'm starting to love Obama the more I read about him. He just seems to be more honest...well, as honest as a politician can be. He has openly opposed the Defense of Marriage act (which prohibits gay marriage as well as civil unions) and has, from the get-go, opposed the Iraqi war. He wants those troops out of there ASAP. I'd love a woman president, but I just can't seem to get behind Hilary. Ah well, one minority glass ceiling broken is still awesome. As long as the next president is not a fundamentalist christian right wing, waving the Christian flag to repress minorities in the name of the Holy God. And this is no attack on religion at all... Just leave it out of politics and keep it in the church, where it belongs.

But maybe you should consider being less full of it.

"I haven't heard any racist comments from him, but I'll get back to you on that."
So he used homosexuals and pedophiles in the same sentence, and you are pretending he is probably a racist as well even though he has never said or done anything to indicate it. Take a deep breath and think about which of you is more wrong. He did not say what you are trying to pretend he did.

Mike Huckabee is a decent man that has different values than you do. Are people allowed to have different values?
It seems you find it grounds for libelous and ridiculous slandering. The statement you find fault with includes "vast array" as descriptive of the list of 'aberrations' he sees as publicly endorsed. If you can't read you may think this means the members of the list are all the same, but it in fact means it is a list of different behaviors that share a commonality of being aberrant. Your statement:
"Huckabee + Presidency= Death Camp for Dykes." is a lie.
"He compared homosexuals to pedophiliac (think Michael Jackson) and necropheliacs" Is a lie.
"You, sir, are a twat and need to simply be gone." Which of you is advocating 'Death Camp' for those with different views?
"they don't want to improve our social programs for single mothers" In the case of the target of your gender based hate (Huckabee) this is another lie. My you do show your superior love, tolerance, and morals don't you.
"While the titel of this entry is dramatic, it's quite the truth; this man was apart of a group that took out a full page add in the NY Times calling for women to be subservent to their husbands" Another lie and poor reasoning as well. Advertising to encourage a choice is a little different from a death camp. Are you saying women should not be allowed to make that choice? Isn't the only basis for your criticism of him his criticism of your choice? He has not said you shouldn't be allowed to make yours, are you suggesting his wife is wrong to make her choice? Are you advocating 'Death Camp' for stay at home Moms? Would it be FAIR to say you were?
I am not a supporter of Huckabee, but I am opposed to character assassination such as this Blog.

The point I was attempting to make with the allusion to racism was not that Huckabee is, in fact, a racist, but that race seems to be the only minority that he hasn’t in some way publicly degraded. I never said he was a racist, but it stands to reason that a man who is as old fashioned as believeing that women should be in the kitchen cooking and that “sodomites” are going to hell may in fact have old school Southern values on race. I have no solid basis for this argument, I freely admit, yet I have found a correlation in other people that just may apply to him. Clearly, I did not state "Mike Huckabee is a racist too!" __________________________________________________________

I respectfully disagree with your semantics regarding this. You say that he did not call homosexuals on the same level as pedophiles but included them in a spectrum of abnormal behaviors. Indeed, gays and lesbians are not apart of the majority, yet do you really feel that we should be included on a list that includes felons? By including the GLBT community on that list, or “spectrum” if you will, he is implying that homosexuals are condemned. Again, this is a man who is going to have to attempt to re-unite our country after being divided for so long, not Joe Schmoe down the block. He is supposed to set an example of the U.S. citizens; are we really supposed to back pedal on the centuries of civil rights work by electing a man who clearly has no intention of following to improving public opinion of gays? I do find it interesting that you take so much issue with me "alleging" that he is racist yet find nothing wrong with him calling out women and gays... I use the example of the KKK (and no, I'm not implying that he in any way shape or form supports the KKK, is a member, etc or a racist, etc.). They have certain values as well, yet are for the most part condemned by society. You call me out for being upset about what he could bring to office with his "values" against a different minority. So, you tell me....how is being a racist completely unacceptable yet being homophobic just another "value"? I think we can all agree that one's values are completely acceptable until they hurt someone else.
As far as being intolerant of his beliefs, I am not. If one wants to believe that I am going to hell for being a lesbian, the only thing I can do is attempt to show them that I am not evil, that I am a person too. That is, If it is an everyday person who cannot affect my life and those around me. However, Huckabee is not just any other person, he is a man who is attempting to become President of the United States, a position that will directly affect if I am able to marry, adopt children, hold a job without discrimination. So yes, I am intolerant of having a man who views MY choices and lifestyle as an aberration at the head of this country. Guilty as charged. I don’t think promoting a divided country, full of hate crimes and religious zeal is the best direction for our country at the moment.

Ah, back to the old "some women have a choice and choose to be subservent." Nice. You're right, I do want someone to respect my choice. But I also want to help change the world to make it a more tolerable place every single citizen who resides here. So, what makes my reasoning any different from Huckabee wanting to promote his own values? Absolutely nothing. The only (and deciding factor) that makes it different is that I want to promote equal rights instead of take them away. Indeed, it is the same reasoning but with different results, so therefore my logic is not faulty.
How do you know it was her choice? You criticise me for wanting to take the choice away from women who are conservative, however, I would like people to be educated before making public declarations that can influence young minds. Think about the freedoms enjoyed because women from the early times were persecuted and told the exact same thing: "go home to your husband and serve him." If one has throughly examined her or himself and still has beliefs that differ from mine, so be it. I have no way of knowing if his wife made her own choice or went along with him, and don't pretend to. I throughly disagree with a full page ad encouraging the Old Testament rules, but...my opinion.

"they don't want to improve our social programs for single mothers" In the case of the target of your gender based hate (Huckabee) this is another lie. My you do show your superior love, tolerance, and morals don't you.
Do you have any reasoning as to why this is a lie? I am not "hating" Huckabee because of my gender, or even because of my sexuality. I do not agree with his statements and actions against minorities of this country. Yes, i do get passionate about it because it directly affects me. Yet, if Barack Obama made a statement tomorrow saying that he hated all Hispanics, or muslims, i would be equally offended at the prospect that someon could become president that would not be fair to every single resident of this country. The truth is, it is difficult to get welfare in this country and when you do, it is barely anything to get one on one's feet. Trust me. I'm from a poor county, I've seen it. Most of it and the income from the minimum wage job they find goes toward the expenses of childcare. So, unless congress can develop a plan to get these women educated and with reduced childcare, i'd say we are throwing quite a bit of money into a black hole. Please, enlighten me as to how this is being gender-biased against Huckabee instead of dismayed at the entire government.
I apologize for nothing in this blog and I believe everyword. At no point did I lie and this is not the steamings of an airhead going with the "liberal flow." Also, at no point did I mention stay at home mothers or being a "femi-nazi" and i will not divert the topic to defend myself against such attacks. If you would like to debate such things, private message me.
Short sighted is the nicest phrase of many that come to mind. Gay rights are a subset of rights in general, and more specifically the right to think, feel, speak, and act as you choose. If you return hate for hate have you helped to make any progress, or just further divided us all?
---
"do you really feel that we should be included on a list that includes felons?"
No, but misrepresenting the statement does not benefit the truth. Is it news to you that a Baptist preacher is against homosexuality?
---
"By including the GLBT community on that list, or “spectrum” if you will, he is implying that homosexuals are condemned."
He probably thinks so, but what he is IMHO saying is that general amorality is encouraged when traditional values are tossed aside. The subject of the book as a whole is kids committing murder. I don't fault your feeling offended by the comparison. The problem in your response is lies, and innuendo that is at least equal to his. The moral high ground is not down in the dirt at or even below what you oppose.
---
"how is being a racist completely unacceptable yet being homophobic just another "value"?"
I support freedom. So I would defend a person’s right to be a racist, as well as a homophobe. Is it so hard for you to see that if we are not free to think what we wish we are not free at all?
"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
That principle is the basis upon which gay rights rest.
---
"I think we can all agree that one's values are completely acceptable until they hurt someone else."
Being offended does not justify your false innuendo concerning racism. He thinks homosexuality is hurting people; you think his opinion is hurting you. Do you see the pattern?
---
"I don’t think promoting a divided country, full of hate crimes and religious zeal is the best direction for our country at the moment."
Opposing a candidate is different than blatant lies. Which 'hate crimes' do you accuse him of now? Speaking? Having 'religious zeal'? Tolerance is not even a consideration when people agree; it is a way to treat those you disagree with.
---
"But I also want to help change the world to make it a more tolerable place every single citizen who resides here. So, what makes my reasoning any different from Huckabee wanting to promote his own values?"
Well, there is the 'death camp' accusation, but more to the point ARE YOU TRYING TO BE AS BAD, OR BETTER?
---
"they don't want to improve our social programs for single mothers"...Do you have any reasoning as to why this is a lie?
"he doubled the standard deduction and the child care tax credit"
"Huckabee signed legislation to create a health insurance program which extended coverage to children of lower income families,"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Huckabee
It would be more accurate to call it a generalization. Just as you object to being generalized into the same category as NAMBLA members by virtue of one shared trait your characterization of 'old white male lawmakers are bloody hypocrites' is too broad an accusation to convict anyone except the bigot that utters it. How can you spew hatred toward an entire gender/age group and feel so self righteous?
---
If you oppose Huckabee I'm with you. When you make statements as prejudiced as those you object to in him I'm against you. If you read more about your target you most likely will not like him any better, but you would be able to accurately accuse him of things he is actually guilty of rather than fabricating alluding, and generalizing.
