Exchange students

I really do enjoy the foreign exchange students in our school. I think exchange students in general make for really good friends. They are always intelligent. (They kind of have to be to learn and live in a different language.) They are all usually very open minded. Typically, they are fairly loyal, honest, and not to concerned with popularity, which is always a huge plus. They also bring a completely different perspective on everything, which is always good to hear. Maybe someday I'll study abroad. Probably in college. I'm thinking England or Italy, or maybe even both. Has anyone ever studied abroad? What was the experience like? Would you do it again?

My school has hosted many foreign exchange students in the past few years. One of my best friends is hosting an exchange student and it is always interesting to hear their perspective. I think it is a great program but I would never be brave enough to do it myself.

It would be really scary, but really fun.

Some of my close friends from highschool were exchange students. (Still friends, just not exchange students anymore) I was an exchange student and I LOVED IT. Oh my gosh did I love it. I spent a year in Germany. I have never regretted it, and I miss my family and friends terribly. If you like cultures/languages I would absolutely recommend going for it. Feel free to message me if you have any questions I can answer or if you'd like suggestions. Also, if you're still in highschool and interested in going to Germany or Japan, I can point you to some great scholarships.

I'm a senior, so doing it during high school is not really possible anymore. I just applied to NYU, and they have a great study abroad program, so hopefully I can do that.

The programs that I went through will take you after highschool, so it's like doing a 5th year in a foreign country. That's what I did. Most colleges will hold your spot, too.
But that's just further information, not trying to super persuade you or anything. NYU is a school that I would assume to have a good study abroad program, so it'll still be really fun. :)
