Teen Drinking

Teen drinking is bad. More and more people are drinking at younger ages all the time. But the more people tell us how bad it is the more people want to do it. If you go into my high school and stand in the hallway on any given day you will easily hear about at least 3 or 4 parties. If you hear about that many in one hallway can you imagine how many are actually taking place in one weekend?

It is way to easy for minors to get alcohol. Everyone knows someone who can get them alcohol, or someone that knows someone who can buy. Its becoming a serious problem that not very many people are doing anything about.

Why is teenage drinking bad? Maybe if it is habit forming and done irresponsibly. I think it depends on how teenage drinking is done. If it is done in moderation, and safely I dont really see why it is bad.

The legal drinking age used to be 18; adults should be old enough to make their own decisions and be responsible about what they put in their bodies. If they are not its their fault. The dumb ones can kill themselves from drinking and driving and alcohol poisoning. Maybe more emphasis should be placed on alcohol education and how to drink responsibly instead of simply demonstrating the effects of not being responsible and drinking and driving.

i think that the legal drinking age should be 18. if you are old enough to die fighting for your country... you should be old enough to drink or put whatever you want into your body.

I didn't drink much in high school, i smoked more pot. Or tried new drugs.
Drinking is only a problem because there are some kids parents that allow then and/or thier friends have parties or drink. Parenting is always key element.

I don't really have a problem with alcohol, as long as it is used in moderation and people who drink do so responsibly. I drink alcohol sometimes, but I never go overboard like what goes on at the parties you mentioned. I think that you are right, the access to alcohol is too easy and teens are growing out of control. But in reality, just as many 'adults' do stupid things with alcoholic influence as teens do. So the question is where and how do we draw the line?

I really don't know..

its not just teen drinking that it bad. all drinking is bad. we can pin point it to teens. and we party because we have nothing else to do. we drink because its fun. and its only a problem when people are irresponsible. if you drink, dont drive.

Anything in moderation is fine. Water, alcohol, coke, pork rinds, whatever.

Anything to excess-- not so much.

I guess I just don't see much else to discuss.

Yeah, there are things that are a lot more difficult to administer moderately (i.e. cocaine or LSD, to name a few), but that's the user's problem.
