Showboats

I have come to realize through a past experience just how much I dislike it when people like to rub things in your face. I wish everyone would just keep things to themselves unless asked. People do not have to rub things in other people's faces especially when that person knows he or she did better. It's so frustrating and infuriating. Ok so this is the memory that set me off. ... I am back as a junior in high school taking which was obviously SAT time. My high school was very competitive and needless to say, everyone was studying hardcore for the SATs, whether it be taking classes or shutting themselves in the library. There was this one particular girl, whose name I will withhold for privacy purposes, who was at that time considered the smartest person in our class. Captain of tennis team, prospective valedictorian, you name it. So all of our classmates proceed to take the SATs and wait the three weeks or so to get our scores back. Again being from a very competitive high school, we all were pretty anxious to get our scores back. Finally, the day arrived. As I recall it was a Saturday. I checked on collegeboard for my score, to be honest a little disappointed, although not distraught. I am just telling my mom the score and having that career talk that parents have with every kid, when this classmate decides to call. Keep in mind we don't really talk on a regular basis and quite honestly I didn't really like her. So she calls a starts telling me about her day and asked me if I checked my score. I said yes and she slyly prodded me until I gave her my score. After she finds out that I did much worse than her, she goes "GUESS WHAT I GOT?". I said lemme guess 2400. She goes "OMGOSH YES. howd you know". I mean I will admit that I was definitely jealous but still. wtf. And the sad thing is there are more of these types of people in college.

You'll meet people like that throughout your entire life no matter where you go or what you do. I know it sucks, but I guess that's life ;)
