Standardized Tests
I remember my freshman year competing to get the highest score on my ACT. The bad thing was i was my own worst enemy. I had all honor classes. My G.P.A was above average but I had the attention span of a dog chasing its tail. I could not get prepared for the test. Soon as I saw the booklet of questions I think it triggered my latent epileptic responses. I would fall asleep in and wake up and not know where I was. It is so sad. To all the people that did great on this test awesome. There are more than a few of us that still made it to college with sucky scores. Its okay. To these people my advise is that you stay focused on school. It is going to get hard. For others you may get hard on yourself. Just keep trying and dedicate yourself to the bigger picture. You will not be able to have fun because the competition is real. Your classmate next to you may party really hard but is really smart too. So your clasmate can party but you will need to focus on your studies. talk to your teachers they are there to help you make it through the storm. Talk to other peers. Seek help and you will find that college is a breeze. Ride the float will it is good because the second you get side tracked you are knocking yourself out the box to being the best you can be. For us it is an army of one.

I despised the ACT. I was lucky, while I hated it, I ended up with a good score, but the idea that I'm going to be judged almost completely by this score on a test that doesn't even make sense, really made me mad.

Think about the one that sucked at the test.

I always blew thru them and did well, way better than anyone expected. My ACT day, I watched a spider land on the girl in front of me and I giggled. I always felt bad for people that have test anxiety...I never cared, how do you judge my intelligence on A, B, C, or D...?
I hate being on a grade scale. What the bleep?

The SAT and ACT are worthless. I have no anxiety taking them because I have no care for them. I will get into college because of what I can bring to the community, not by what my test scores supposedly say I'll be like.
As long as you have good grades, a nice essay, and determination. You can get into college.
