What are you thinking?

I know what you're thinking. You're wondering if what I'm about to say is worth your time. You're wondering if I am worth the time. I understand, I do the same thing sometimes, but this doesn't mean we aren't wrong to do so.
I know this seems hard, especially considering the astounding number of idiots posing as normal intelligent people on the internet, but we(myself included) need to learn to give everyone a chance to prove their worth to society.
I realize I'm not helping the situation at this moment. There are several things about my post aside from these words that you can use to draw a fairly accurate conclusion about my character. Everything from my user name to my signature quotes is influencing your opinion of me, more even than the words I'm writing.
I realize that you are, even as you read these words, judging me in your head, deciding whether or not you will continue to read my posts.
I can only offer my hopes that you will continue to read, and comment on what i write. In fact, i urge you to comment, because I'm not perfect, despite how i act occasionally, and i may get something wrong, or(God forbid) i may just say something dumb.
So please...read, comment. And I will try my best to make it worth your time.

Welcome to the site, Isocrates. (I love the username, by the way).

In future, we generally ask that any sort of introductory entries be posted in the discussion forums, rather than blogs... :)

But - you're right. We do judge a lot - both in person and on the Internet. The Internet is a lot harder, of course, because we are robbed of most every form of communication other than words. You never realize just how much you depend on body language and tone inflection until you're stuck behind a keyboard with nothing but a font to communicate your message.

Best of Luck!
