I think it's safe to say the healthy look is in. Sure, the models on the catwalk are skin and bones, but everyone knows they're suffering for it. I'm not in with the fashion world, but I remember reading a while ago about a certain special fashion week in Spain where the models were being required to be over a specific weight, to promote the healthier image and dissuade people from developing eating dissorders.
That is assuming that people are actually stupid enough to idolize whatever they see on magazines and Hollywood movies. Psh. It doesn't matter if someone's skinnier than you or fatter than you. What matters is that he/she and you are healthy. We are smart enough to know that nowadays, because the bigger people can say "I'm healthy" and the skinny people can say "I'm healthy", because the fast food chains have been exposed, because people are learning not to buy into separate realities, and are instead chosing to value their unique bodies.
I am just blogging this because I hope no one ever falls into that trap anymore, and I hope no one ever envies another because it's not right for either person. I know it still goes on, but I can only hope we can get past it and see that we are different and we are each okay if we eat healthy and exercise.
