Recently, I've read a book by retired professor, Dr. David Ray Griffin, entitled "Christian Faith and the Truth Behind 9/11: A Call to Reflection and Action." It provides a very intricate compilation of evidence contrary to the evidence provided in the official government-appointed 9/11 commission's report. The evidence provided in his book details inconsistencies in "The 9/11 Commission Report" and the official 9/11 account as enforced by the mainstream media as well as providing well supported motives why cells currently in our government would allow (or commit) such a catastrophic attack.
Some of the issues surrounding the 9/11 attacks Dr. Griffin mentions that have not been truly quelled include:
-the collapse of WTC towers 1,2, and 7 resemblance to that of controlled demolition
-WTC towers 1,2, and 7 being the only steel-framed buildings in history to collapse due to fire
-the mysterious collapse of WTC 7 (as well the owner, Larry Silverstein, ironically declaring "to pull it" on a PBS documentary)
-the quick removal and destruction of the WTC debris/evidence
-the lack of video footage of the jetliner crash at the Pentagon
-lack of investigation from agencies outside the NIST and the government-appointed 9/11 Commission
-lack of investigation into the government's failures that allowed the attacks.
This is definitely a very thought-provoking book. Dr. Griffin's aim in writing the book is simply to call into question these issues listed above surrounding the 9/11 attacks.
There is plenty more information pertinent to the 9/11 investigation provided on the web and by professors such as retired physics professor, Dr. Steven Jones. Released as of this month is a book by Philip Shenon, a New York Times reporter, entitled "The Commission: The Uncensored History of the 9/11 Investigation" that calls into question further issues that have arisen from the controversial 9/11 commission.
I would appreciate any educated responses or thoughts about Dr. Griffin and his book, Philip Shenon's book, or further investigation into 9/11.

i honestly can't comprehend how anyone could believe the 9/11 tragedies were a government setup. that is complete insanity. i saw the devastation first hand; my teacher's son almost died in the pentagon. my school secretary's daughter was coming out of the new york subway just in time to see the planes hit. if it had really been implemented by the people of our country, there is no way something this big of a deal could have been kept a secret.
Those who knew of the attack but were probably threatened with their lives or even family members' lives
In fact, there have been accounts of FBI agents who have come forward anonymously and released some details that they knew of suspicious activity within the government prior to 9/11 but were ignored or squelched by higher ranking officials. Unfortunately, these government personnel cannot come forward to civilian news agencies with their stories because of being convicted on charges of treason (by releasing highly confidential federal evidence). That having been said, will these people and their stories ever be heard widespread and investigated?

I just believe that the government ignored some signs, but don't we all when it comes to what ifs???
So far, jdhurst has been the only blogger to give an educated analysis about issues surrounding 9/11. His statements are much more compelling than the complete dismissal of Dr. Griffin's input about the matter. Nobody is saying for a fact that controlled demolition was what happened. This is simply a forum for the exchange of thoughts.
