If you have not heard of Urban Dictionary it is in a way a satire on a dictionary. You can look up a word and it will give a fake definition usually making fun of the word you typed in. For example
San Diego
City that is blessed by God himself... repeatedly.
I want to go back to San Diego and stay there, permanently.
There are some pretty funny definitions in here but at times it gets a little racist and takes things too far. All in all it is a good laugh and often times it has areas near where you live, try looking up the city you live in and see what it says.
i thought urban dictionary was a slang dictionary....?
As the other guy noted, UD isn't satire. It's a legitimate dictionary that allows readers to submit their own definitions for slang terms. Yes, some users get on there and ruin it with their racism or their ignorance, but the fact remains that UD isn't mocking other dictionaries. It's aspiring to be one.
UrbanDictionary is NOT a satire, it's a serious attempt at defining all those intangible slangs and colloquialisms that cool people use. a great many of them are hilarious and useful. forgive me if I can't remmeber all the ones Ive encountered.....
