Cell phones are very popular these days and are becoming even more so with the updated features. Honestly, who needs to listen to music on a phone? The fact that so much technology is being added to a phone makes no sense to me. Do people honestly need to take pictures by phone and then send them to their friends? I'm guilty of texting and indulging in a new ring tone every once in awhile, but enough is enough. Some people seem to make their phones their lives. Personally, I'm just glad to have one that works. Cell phones are very practical and evev necessary in some situations, but they just seem to get abused. Some people carry on conversations with others even while they are driving a vehicle. Unless it's an emergency, the conversation can wait for a few minutes so that the safety of the driver and others on the road could be in danger because of a cell phone accident. Also, why do kids in the elementary school need cell phones? I can understand it if the children live in a bad neighborhood. What I am referring to is the kids who constantly text and have their phones glued to their ears when they haven't even reached puberty! Children who barely know the value of a dollar should not be given the responsibility or privilege of having a cell phone.
The Cell Phone Craze

I agree.. but I guess if people will want to waste their money on it that is their business.
I have issues with elementry kids having real phones because short of kids who do a lot of activities what do they need it for? Most shouldn't be going places totally alone and they obviously can't drive. However, I can't tell someone else what to do so if they want to waste money on a phone for their child so be it.
Personally, I wouldn't want a phone with EVERYTHING on it, because I would totally break it or lose it and I'd be totally crushed.
Yeah, that's true, people can spend their money on whatever they want. And that's true about possibly losing the cell phone. I'm surprised that mine still works after all it's been through. Some people probably shouldn't have expensive phones simply for that reason, but I guess that's the risk that some take when making a purchase.
I'm usually for the whole latest technology bit. But when I think about it, I don't think all the features are even actually necessary. I'd probably never use half of them.
But you know, it's all about what's going to make the money keep rolling in...
When I get a new phone, I don't really care about the features. Yes, I use the calandar, alarm clock, and calculator, but that's about it.
when i want a phone, i look to see if it has a calendar and some ringtones so i can tell who people are by their ringtone so i know whether or not to answer. other than that i dont really care.
I have yet to see a situation where a cell phone is necessary. I've seen situations where they are convenient, but not necessary. People forget that 20 years ago, life went on without cell phones. Kids made it home from school, spouses made it home from work, and nobody died because they didn't get the picture of Bob and Jane making out. I have a cell phone only because my husband insists, but I don't need it. We could juggle all our activities without it.
I go for the free phone, and I keep it until it falls apart. I don't buy separate ringtones, since they come with caller ID to see who is calling. Heck, i don't even buy a ringtone for myself. I'll just take the annoying noise the phone company felt I deserved and be (un) happy with it.
