Why Ask?

Why is it that when people ask you a question and they are given the answer, why do they contradict the answer that is given? If they know the answer to begin with, then why ask the question? The other day I was asked to help someone with a computer issue. My Friend asked me how to burn a data cd. I explain the steps to him like these. First, explore the c drive or hard drive, find the program or file that you want to burn. Second, right click on that file then send it to the cd-rw. These would have taken seconds to complete the process. Instead, he argued with me, afraid he would lose his files if he sent them to the cd-rw. Again, I say then why even ask? Anyway, instead of following the instructions he asked me for, he decided to copy all the files, put them on his desktop, and then paste them to the cd-rw. This process took him over 30 minutes to complete and he’s going into computer information is school. I hope he will listen then. After he finally burned the cd, I asked if I could install it to my laptop. After installing I showed him the steps I would have done to burn the cd, and was done within a couple of minutes. Aggravated, he snapped at me saying, “it’s the way I prefer to do it!” So my thoughts on the whole matter is why bother wasting both our time if you’re not going to take the advice given.
