Topic of the Week: "Protesters demand Bush get tough on hate crimes"

  This topic is about a rally that stressed hate crimes to be done away with.
  The rally took place at the Justice Department headquarters; the people who participated in the rally were Rev. Al Sharpton and Martin Luther King III. The purpose of this rally was for to persuade President Bush to get harder on hate crimes because so many people in this country are outranged about hatred and racism.
  I think we need federal hate crime legislation because I feel that hate crimes are a thing of the past because it happened in the 1950s; therefore I don't know what you think, but I think that hate crimes are really old and needs to be done away with because its not the 1950s anymore because this is the year 2007.
