Americans tend to think that we are a really great nation and we are the ones to look up to. However, this is only the opinion of many.
Have you ever heard of child sex trafficking? I can tell you that probably half of the nation does not even know that this is a problem going on today. Your excuse may be that it's only happening in other countries, but that is completely false. There are brothels located in the U.S., but so many people are unaware that they even exist. Grown men from the U.S. go to other countries such as Cambodia and Thailand to engage in the child sex industry and it is wrong. The federal government has passed a law that makes it illegal to go to another country with the intent of engaging in sexual acts with a minor. However, many of the men claim that they travel overseas for other reasons.
Have you ever heard about Debbie? She was kidnapped in front of her own house and forced to engage in sexual acts with grown men. Debbie was kidnapped when her friend who she hadn't seen in a while came to her house. Debbie went to talk to her friend and as she hugged her friend, her friend pulled her into a car with the help of two older men and took her to an apartment and locked her up in a dog cage. The only reason why Debbie's friend was in on this was because the two men threatened to kill her family. When Debbie got to the apartment, she was gang raped and left in the dog cage until clients came. The two men forced her to eat dog treats for their own entertainment. When the police raided the apartment, the men forced her to hide in a cupboard so no one would find her. However, the police found her anyway. The authorities said that she was in the dog cage for only 40 days. Do you know where this happened? That's right, it happened right here in the good old U.S.A.
There are so many girls and boys all over the world who are kidnapped or sold into slavery. Some are forced to perform dangerous manual labor, some are forced to become a child soldier, and others are forced to enter the sex industry. A majority of the children forced to enter the sex industry are girls. These girls are as young as 2 years old, but many of them are probably around 13 or 14. These girls are forced to sleep with 15 to 20 grown men a day and the men normally don't wear condoms. This puts the girls at a greater risk of contracting an STD or getting pregnant. When the girls contract an STD, the people that run the brothel either leave the girl on the streets to die or they kill them. When a girl gets pregnant, the brothel owners perform home abortions, which is unsanitary and unprofessional. These girls are stripped of their identities and many of them are forced to sleep in cardboard boxes. Many of the girls have fight in them when they first arrive at the brothel, but after about a month of being forced to sleep with 20 men a day, they lose their sense of hope and seem like zombies.
Now you tell me how much you know about this issue. Are you willing to do something to stop this? What if one of those girls was a girl you know? What if you were one of those girls? You can be kidnapped at anytime and anywhere and be forced into human sex trafficking, so remember when you walk outside to look around at your surroundings. Remember that it can happen to you too. Remember that you are one of the lucky ones who has managed to avoid becoming a victim.
What are you going to do to stop the traffick?
