The "theme" for me this week seems to be courage. Situations and people have come into my life with this prominent "topic" at hand. Patiently, I have sat back and observed (even participated) in the act of courage. I have faced unanswered questions to a lingering and serious health issue. I have addressed and faced personal emotional questions that relate to past and present relationships. I have witnessed a friend choose courage over repeating the cycle of unhealthy behavior in a relationship. I have witnessed a friend be courageous enough to allow himself to be vulnerable with his insecurities and fears of rejection. This morning I coached a broken heart into finding the courage to face, and begin, to accept the truth in an "ending" relationship. Every situation was different....yet the common thread necessary for growth and forward motion was courage.
To be courageous is a choice we all have to make at some point (or many points) in our life. It's not easy, it's uncomfortable, sometimes it's harsh and hurtful. We may hear things we don't want to hear, see things we don't want to see, and feel things we honestly could do without feeling. In the end though....we are left feeling stronger than before. We are left feeling a bit more wise. We have one more "lesson learned" under our belts. It is at this point, we also now have one more lesson we can share with the world, and with others.
Have a great night :)
