Sex offenders in your area

A lot of teens and people of all ages really don't take this seriously. You think you live in a safe neighborhood? Think again. I was shocked to see that there are three sex offenders living in my zip code and one of them is a woman. There are about 50 within a few miles of my school too. I urge everyone to go on their city or county website and see where the sex offenders are in your neighborhood. You really have to be cautious about this. Too many people, especially women and children, get raped and molested every day. If one person is raped, that is one too many. It can do unbelievably painful damage to someone and leave permanent scares that can last forever and cause one to be afraid of sex or other things. For instance, a friend of mine could be afraid to go on dates alone with boys because she was raped on a date with a boy. It can really mess up someone's life and we all need to do our part to keep ourselves and loved ones safe. If you see any suspicious activity in your area, call the police, and if you see a registered sex offender, go back into your home and lock your doors. Some say it is an invasion of privacy to broadcast the names and addresses of the sex offenders themselves but I believe we have a right to know. Take care of yourself and know your boundaries. Look up the information and alert those in your household and your friends.

Do you have any idea what those people were even convicted of? They served their time, they may not even be a danger anymore. Anyway, most sex offenders are in fact family members.

yes, it clearly states their charges and has a picture of them. i know what i'm doing.

It's terrifying to see how many sex offenders live in your area, especially if it's an area of town you wouldn't expect it in. The truth though, like Kiota said, you should find out why they had to register. A lot of times a couple who is dating have sex and the parents get angry, of course if one is over 18 and the other is not, it's considered statutory rape, so even if they were both consenting and not even that far apart in age, he/she will have to register. So before freaking out, find out that information. But in all cases, keeping an eye out for the safety of your children and neighborhood children is definitely necessary.

As was stated before, there are some people who have had to register as a sex offender and it wasn't even near as bad as rape (the case being a couple, one under 18 the other over-statutory rape). If you have the ability to look up these sex offenders, you should also be able to see to what degree they were charged. Level three sex offenders are the worst, often convicted of rape, sexual assualt, or molestation.

And I doubt these people really get cured this easily. My mom just came in my room and read my post and right away told me that these people never get cured and that they are messed up in the head. I sincerely doubt the level threes get cured after rehab. Think about it.

This problem is very scary. People do not realize how safe they must be. Especially children. People let their children wonder around in stores and such yet there are sex offenders over populating their city. Nice information and very interesting post.
