Islam and Christianity are two religions which have many similarities, but also many key differences. One of the biggest discrepencies between these two faiths is their stance on Jesus of Nazareth.
Christians believe Christ is eternal, that he has always existed, and came to earth born of teh Virgin Mary. He healed, and forgave sin, proving his own divinity, and on many occasions claimed his own divinity. The father (Jehovah, God, Abba, etc.), The Son (Christ), and the holy ghost, make up the trinity. Christ ultimately proved his divinty by taking the sin of all men on the cross and dying, only to raise again three days later. He later appeared to his apostles, hundreds of people, and last of all, Saul of Tarsus (later known as the Apostle Paul). Christians believe he ascended into heaven, and will return in the end.
Muslims believe Christ was a Prophet, much like Moses. Some even believe he was indeed the messiah. Most importantly though, Muslims do not believe that Jesus was God, they do not believe in the trinity, and they do not believe that Christ died on the cross, and rose again.
So this is where these two religions diverge. Did Christ rise again? If he did, the Quran has a false statement in it, which destroys the cornerstone of Islamic faith. If he did not, this utterly diestroys Christian faith.
Christian apologetics have written on many occasions (including The Case for Christ, More than a Carpenter, etc.) about the case for christs rising again, and his divinity. Some basic principles in this evidence includes, The Empty Tomb, The sightings by the apostles and others, and the reaction of his enemies when they heard the tomb was empty.
The Quran states, that Christ did not raise from the dead, but does support that his tomb was empty. Some muslims believe Allah made Judas Iscariot look like Christ, and put him on the cross instead. Others believe that Allah simply made him look dead, then when he was in the tomb, healed him, and he was simply able to walk out. There are other theorys too.
This isn't the most complete explanation of the debate, but it may give you some basis to form opinions, and places to start looking to back yourself up. I personally believe, that the evidence for Chirsts resurrection is inrefutable on many levels, and out weighs the muslim argument substantially. If you disagree, tell me, I could blog on this for ages. I'll being paying attention to this blog, so let the debate begin. Your after life may depend on it!

I agree with you, I am a christian all the way, but i do not deny everything that anybody else says as ridiculous. I will reseqarch their beliefs because everybody thinks that theire religeon makes sence. I liked the way that you presented both sides of the facts. It is something that is fair for everyone, even if we believe something different.
Islam does not believe that Jesus rose again. Yes, It does not but you have not accurately clarified what Muslims believe and I understand this might be because you are not Muslim so before I give my own knowledge on this matter.
lets discuss the fact that it is from the Sunni point of view and the teachings/knowledge of the prophet by the Hanafi scholars..
so, without furthre ado,
for Muslims, Jesus was taken By Allah SWT to the seventh cloud where he is, well all i know is that is where he is, but we know or rather believe he will come back just before what Muslim people call Qayamat ka Din (well Qayamat is actually what it is called in Urdu) In english this would be the day of Judgment
SO you can now see the many similarities
BUT the main, significant difference is that we have never ascribed or given a man (or i think for Christians Jesus is all three) the status of a trinity and divinity, or that Jesus died to save the rest of mankind
which i have now found out, that he only died to save Christians or the believers of his faith
if i am wrong about Christianity then please correct me but i know i am right about Islam because my dad is a Hafiz and that means he has memorixed the Quran and knows the whole book in Arabic but he has also read it in urdu translation and further more a Hafiz is considered and repected very highly in Muslim community, it is not easy to memorize a book by heart that has 114 prayers or what we call surrahs and when you break it down into book/chapter form there are 30 of them

You are right. Jesus, to Christians, died for everyone, and we must believe in Christ. The most important thing to know when pursuing salvation is that Christ is the only gate to salvation, and the only way to attain a relationship with him is through prayer, faith, recognition of yourself as a sinner, and living his example. And truley one must know who Christ was in order to believe in him. You have to know what he did, who he was, and so on an so forth. All these things can be found in the Bible.
