Evil is Dependent On Where A Person is Standing

Tagged:  •

Evil is relative. You can't hang a sign on it. You can't touch it or taste it or cut it with a sword. Evil depends on where you are standing, pointing your indicting finger. -Glen Cook

It's all about how a person percieves things. Perhaps someone believes that the President is the epitomy of evil, well that's all from where they are standing. Someone else will believe that John Kerry is the devil incarnate because that is what they percieve. Everything is different depending on who a person is, and what their morals are. Sometimes it doesn't even depend on morals, just opinions.

Opinions will always differe as there cannot be one side without the other. It would create an imbalance if there wasn't more than one side. As to whether which one is correct and which one is wrong is all in the eyes of the beholder. It's like beauty. One person can think a woman a perfect ten, where as another will view her as a dud.

It's the same thing with an occurence, like a car crash. If a person found ten different people who witnessed it each would have a different version of the story.

In any case, if there were no fingers being pointed there would technically be no view of evil. Which would mean that there would be no view of good. There would just be... well... it would just be I suppose.

amen. Did you learn that one in church when your leaders were trying to justify why bad things happen to good people and why God let's things happen at all. Because that's where I got my first explanation of it.

No, I don't go to church. I am not a Christian, I am Wiccan. So nope, I did not learn that in a church.

That is my opinion based on the ideas formulated in my head due to reading the quote at the beginning of my blog post. Glad you liked the post though. :)
