I have never been bowling until about a week ago. I never even wanted to. But can’t get over the surprising reactions I receive when I tell people I have never bowled. My parents was even surprised. I blame them. It’s not my fault they never took me. They opt to go to fancy restaurants, museums, symphonies, operas, and picnics. They never learned to ride a bike until I was 12 or jump rope until I was 14. I had a very unconventional upbringing. I enjoyed hanging out with my parents and their friends more than other children.
But back to my first bowling experiences. I enjoyed my self and did better than I thought I would. Wearing strange germ infested shoes was not nearly as bad as I thought. We played ducky bowling (I think that is what it is called) and regular bowling. I liked the ducky bowling more. Most likely the direct result of my getting a strike WAHOO HOO!! I would not mind going again. I think everyone should try something they never even thought twice about. It could be fun.

Umm ducky bowl? I think it's bumper bowling if it has stuff around the gutters, but have never heard of ducky bowling..
Im not sure if its called duck bowling . it could be duck bill bowling, i'm not sure. but it has little pins adn little balls and you get 3 vballs instead of 2.
Wow yea still have no idea,lol. I only really know cosmic, bumper and regular. So hey apparently you know more than me and I have been bowling for probably 15 years,lol! = P

Cosmic is black light bowling, it's a ton of fun, the pins are usually bright colors and so are the balls. (Glow in the dark bowling, it's also called.) Bumper bowling is bowling with something in the gutters so you can't roll gutter balls. it eliminates a huge problem and is most times associated with kids but can be a ton of fun, if you aren't playing competitively
The cosmic bowling sounds ike fun, i think i will look into trying that. i just recently heard of bumper bowling, my niece just went.
That's cool, yea cosmic is pretty fun, it's looks like laser tag, everything's blacklight and your teeth glow.

Hanging with your parents....lol...... There's nothing wrong with that, just sounds like you grew up to fast and didn't have time to enjoy life. BUT, glad to hear you are enjoying it now. I myself have been bowling, not that good. But I can say it is much fun and a stress releiver also. Have fun and enjoy life, my friend..... life is to short not to.
i think i enjoyed life. just not like other children did. i have a friend that says i grew up "cultralized"(i can't spell).
Being open to new things is what growing up is all about. I had a similar experience with skiing... Every time I go I get better... even though I didn't want to try it at first.
Somewhere in my response there should be a reference to Green Eggs and Ham... I am just unsure of where to put it......
yes i was like sam i am. i never wanted to go bowling. i did not want to put on shoes that who knows how many people have worn, and bowling just looked so boring to me.

I was raised in a similar manner. I prefered being with adults at a young age and continue to prefer it most of the time now, but sometimes I loosen up and hang out with people my own age :)
I'm glad to hear that your bowling experience was so much fun. You should definetly continue bowling in the future :)

I'm 31, and I just began a couple of months ago because my family has started bowling every Saturday night. I just bought my first ball last weekend, and I'm really enjoying it. Have fun!
