Drinking, drugs, sex, and pregnant all before the age of seventeen. This is EXACTLY how I want my daughter to grow up. Daddy's little... Well you get the picture. My (hypothetical) daughter Cindy (how cute!) is 12 years old. I won't let her near her mother's make-up kit, but "mommy" says it's an excellent idea to express herself. I do, however, let my daughter have free reign over CABLE television (no HBO. She's only 12.) Recently she's taken a liking to a certain music television network where they don't play much music (odd huh?). She's recently taken a liking to a show where they put seven strangers in a big house and let them at each other (you know what show I'm talking about). My daughter comes and asks me for twenty dollars for a "freak um dress" and I promptly say "Absolutely NO!!!". My daughter promptly replies "Screw you!" I did NOT teach my daughter that phrase, TV did. The celebrity scene has become corrupted. What once was an industry for pretty people who's only problem was "What color shoes do I wear?" is now a place where the problems are "What shoes should I wear to rehab today?" Celebrities are supposed to be role models, but i certainly do not want my daughter to be famous for flashing her [insert any part of the body that should be covered by underwear] in public after getting out of a bar fight then going to rehab the next morning. America is now obsessed with train wrecks (why else is You Tube a success?) and scandals. Why can't America cherish people that do good and right instead of people who make a living in bed. The reason is simple: America has twisted values. The country that once stood for all that was pure and good now stands to not get made fun of or pushed around (Iraq anyone?). Sadly, we've come too far to turn back. If America begins to take the diplomatic approach, other countries will swoop in and take over. If we don't we're doomed. So America is in a state of corruption, all because of a too short dress.
