I hope that you read that title and got pissed off - I mean severely pissed off to the point where you are ready to throw things at me whilst borrowing some lines from SaintAntioch's thesaurus to use for your utter development of tourrette's.
I hope you clicked on the title with full intention of screaming, yelling, ranting, and otherwise just cursing the person who coined that phrase...
Did you read that right? Yes you did.
I, for one, saw this story and immediately began to think of so many places where I'd like to stick this pin...hell, even a crate of these pins. It just goes to show that idiots are still free to roam this world unchecked. Their ignorance is painful - but sadly, it's only painful to those of us around them.
What's worse about this...than the pin itself? It's not alone. I don't know the genius that decided it would be funny to create this pin, muchless sell it. (Though, I am relieved to see they have been banned from any future Republican events in Texas).
But the fact that this vendor was an idiot does not get Republicanmarket off my shit list either. If you visit their...um... lovely selection of buttons, you will see such gems as:
I have developed a new appreciation for the locks on my doors to help keep the idiots away from me.

Yeah, that about describes the entirety of the republican convention in the south this year. Sad, backwards, and I'm quite sure theres a few "republicans" in Texas that would like to pin that on a set of white sheets they keep hidden away for "special purposes".

You mean, like the nights they use their newly legal sex toys, right? ;)

I just spent the evening with some friends who left Texas, and the stories they tell...well, yeah. This isn't surprising. Isn't that also the state that requires a Bible class be taught in every public high school? And only recently allowed the sale of sex toys? And loves CHEERLEADING? ;)

I feel kind of bad because I clicked on the link to this blog to laugh. The question made me laugh at the ignorance and sillyness people can have. Actually, I think I chuckled the whole way through it. I think its some kind of defense mechanism I've developed from dealing with stupidity so much. I figured this would either be about that or I was going to find Obama and fight him to the death for wanting to change the color of a significant landmark.
Thank you for clearing the air for all those out there.

The Texas Republican Party has said they plan to donate the funds received from the idiot to charity. It begs the question though... why in the world are they approving vendors if they don't even know what those vendors will be selling?! I know grade school kids with more sense than that.
I really have no sympathy for them. I mean jeez.

...MAN....when I first saw this page....i was all shocked...READY to get mad. YOu feel me? This is all a bit ignorant, don't you think? Did you hear about the other ignorant move they pulled on Obama? Had a picture of a damn MONKEY on a shirt. Talkin bout, "Vote For President"...pissed me off. But thanks for the post. It really moved my mind to another level. YOu a trip, and ain't nothin funny, but.......if it IS called the Black House, hopefully he'll run it alot better than Bush.
It is moments like this that make me sad for the future of our politcial system. As a registered Republican (in New York, not Texas), this just makes me sick. I hope that political-minded people out there aren't going to group us together, but I also realize that it inevitably will happen. I've about had it with politics lately anyway, but this just about takes the cake.

I like the first and the last of those buttons...
Not like democrats don't do their share of calling republicans ''facists" and calling Bush an idiot. The only difference between him and Clinton was that Clinton had a BJ scandal to distract us from how badly he was screwing over African and Eastern Europe.

I don't even like obama ( as a person) and I find this offensive. I heard a similar story on the news a while ago.
This man put curious george on a shirt and put "Obama 08" He said loosely quoted: "I think obama looks like curious george and thought I it would be fine to sell my t-shirts" He didn't find it the least bit offensive and said he wasn't being racist at all. selling these T-shirts seemed a bit rascist to me.
This is very wrong and I must admit I laughed at first but didn't realise it was really something so serious. This is as wrong as the curious george t-shirts.

Love comments? I do too!
There have been a lot of comparisons of Bush to monkeys, but I think that has more to do with his mental capacity and bearing than with his race or his facial features. Well...maybe his ears...

You're right, I saw the title and was fully prepared to fly off the handle. I cannot believe those members of the Republican party could resort to blatant racism and discrimination as a campaign approach. I would think that members of the Republican party would be embarrassed to be associated with these tactics.
I come from a very uneducated and ignorant community and they still think that if Obama becomes president we are going to have the Al Queda move in or something. They are freaking out that a black man is actually gaining popularity. I want to scream sometimes. While I really can't say I hate or love President Bush, my grandma who can't read a word of english always tells me how much she loves him, even though the only news she ever gets is from her sister who speaks english slightly better. I can't help but think what does she base that off that he's so amazing? Anyone listening to the news knows Bush is not the most amazing president on the planet, but yet she hears about Obama from her as well, and quickly decides that he's the antichrist because of his "Muslim" last name, and that he's black.
The sad thing is, even though I think my grandma is the only one capable of such stupidity, this is not the case. The average American is so ignorant, and they base their opinions of anyone on appearance. What does the color of the skin have to do with how well a person can lead our country? Obviously, white skin wasn't much of a help in the Bush administration.

That makes me smile more than reggae music. Good on you.

Man, poor Alan Keyes... he could've actually gotten some votes and publicity if this was about him.
As long as 'race' is a conscious part of the issue, whether or not it's a retaliation to racism, there's still going to be problems. The statement "race doesn't matter" really ought to be superfluous and without meaning, but I've kind of grown jaded and figured that will never be, so I have kind of a thick skin to these sort of blunders.
It is sad that it will hurt the GOP though. My preferences aside, I'd at least like to see pure ideology and issues as the things that will determine the election.
the answer is "yes". any more stupid questions?
Perhaps just one more... Did you read the post?

I just have to add this, though it has virtually nothing to do with the post.
One of my good friends (off-line... he he) has gone to Africa, and knows several others who have also gone to Africa on missions trips. I was at her house for tea last night, and they started talking about their experiences in Africa, and one said that all the people there started thanking them for voting for Obama.
I just found that humorous.
