Responsibility is a hard thing to find

While reading blogs it has been said that stopping drugs may lead to a better world without violence or killing. Than if you target drugs than guns must be target to, to many people a gun may be seen as a weapon who makes people trun into killers. Make innocent people die.

The Truth is that guns and drugs do not make someone bad it is a person who is bad. A gun is just a gun. At a gun store it is sitting behind the counter not loaded or anything just sitting there and nobody is dying but when a person picks it up then and only then does it become a weapon. A gun can not kill someone without a person pulling the trigger. People decided to take the gun and point it at someone and that is when they trun into a killer.

The same goes with drugs if we took all the drugs off the earth violence would still exist and occur. Drugs are an excuse for violence in the world. There are giong to be killers and abuse no matter what. The reality is that guns and drugs are not the problem but society is. Drugs are not harming anyone untill it gets into the wrong hands perhaps someone will go and kill someone when they say that their judgment was impaired after doing drugs or alcohol is not so innocent. Think about it, If that person is even thinking about ending someones life or harming someone than their is something wrong with them, the drugs or alcohol just gives them an excuse to kill people and make it look as though they never thought about it. A gun does not kill people, people kill people. Drugs do not create more violence in the world just is an excuse.

It may be thought out that if someone's judgement is impaired by drugs than they may of not been thinking clearly but drugs do not just jump into somebody's system. A person has to take the drugs to put them in their body therefore if they are going to kill somone while on drugs they are not innocent. They knew that drugs were going to change their judgement and make them think different yet when it comes time to take responsibilty for something that happened while under the influence many back down behind a cornor. The case is that the drug company or friends never told them the side effects or perhaps it was their first time and they did not know what was going to happen. No that is not the answer the answer is responsibilty.

Whithout drugs and guns what do people have to hide behind when they commit a crime? Nothing just the truth, yes they did make a bad call and robbed a store or did shoot someone because they felt threatened. Why give violence something to hide behind because many are scared to admit to what they are, an anmial who very well knows what they have just done. To many, killing and violence are the outcome of drugs and guns but violence and killing are the outcome of people. Think back to the gun sitting at the store in a locked case, nothing bad has happened, no one has died, it is just a gun. When someone pulls the trigger, it becomse a weapon perhaps a murder weapon.

So why do people say that taking away guns and drugs will result in world peace or violence will no longer exist, because of ignorance. Because we can not find a solution to making the world a better place so we find a solution in somthing that already exist and to many is not acceptable, drugs and guns. People making good judgements from the start leads to less violence not a subtance.

exactly...while guns and drugs may be devices for killing and violence and other destructions of the world...it is the people that cause the actual harm...guns don't kill people...people kill people...and drugs don't make people drive while high and kill that innocent bystander...it the person that chose to buy them and use them...people need to realize what they are doing to our country and our world and stop blaming inanimate objects for their flaws

No one (that I'm aware of) has gotten out of a violent charge, especially a murder charge because they were wasted (pick the drug, I don't think it matters).

I agree with Vern. Society has a HUGE problem taking responsibility for anything. Every bad thing is always someone else's or thing's fault. It would actually be nice for a murderer to just stand up and say, "yeah, I killed her. I couldn't stand the bitch," instead of blaming his mom for not loving him enough when he was a child or whatever psychological trauma a lawyer can think of.

My problem with guns is the percentage that they do get mishandled and improperly taken care of. Especially if you have kids in your house, hide the damn guns.

I will have to fight this point: "So why do people say that taking away guns and drugs will result in world peace or violence will no longer exist, because of ignorance." I've never heard anyone say that. I think that if anyone believes that, they have the rosiest pair of rose-colored glasses that ever existed. I've never met such an idealist.

Violence is a natural instinct; it's all about self-control.

exactly...if you can't handle it don't expose yourself to stuff like that...be responsible or go to prison...that's my theory
