America, Home of the Brave

With Memorial weekend behind us, 4th of July is next. While walking into Kroger on the Saturday before Remembrance Day, I noticed American flags flying, quotes from the national anthem, and I thought to myself, shouldn't we express our patriotism everyday? I am proud to be an American 24/7, and even though I don't support war, I support our troops. There's a flag outside of my house everyday, I wear a pin with the flag everyday, so why does it take a holiday for people to wear red white and blue? I overheard a few people from a different country, talking about how they wish they were back in their homeland so they can live their normal lives. Well, you're here, so appreciate it. People constantly complain about our government, our war, our troops dying, and other things. No country is perfect, but I'd say America is pretty great considering what we've been through as a nation. If it is so bad here, why don't you move else where? America a melting pot, that's one of my favorite things about our country, but we ALL need to appreciate it and not take it for granted. I am so proud of my country, we are not perfect, we are not horrible, we're not superior. Its like the happy medium in my opinion, so the next time you criticize our country, think about how things have been, how things could be and the way they are.
