The Magic of Smiling

Have you ever thought about the outcome of a smile? It seems like such a lost expression in our society, but I truly think that it can work miracles in people's lives; I've seen it happen.
So many people become depressed because they feel as if no one cares about them and what they are going through. We become so caught up in ourselves that we forget there are others around us who need encouragement. I'm sure everyone knows someone who falls under this category. I encourage you to give them a smile and see what happens. You never know... your smile could save their life.
What would have happened if people would have started smiling and conversing with the Columbine shooters instead of picking on them and singling them out from everyone? A school shooting could have been prevented. These people need help, and there are still more out there who could use a little bit of happiness in their life.
How would you feel if you had to go a week without seeing anyone smile at you? I know that I would feel pretty down and I would probably be carrying a frown on my face all day. It's not something I would enjoy living with. Why is it so hard to just smile? Seriously, I don't get it. You could use it as your random act of kindness for the day. Even if you smile to a complete stranger, you could still make them feel better because they know that someone is caring.
So don't be afraid to show that smile of yours. Even if you aren't having the best day, try to forward your smile to other people... I bet it will make you feel better.
