Hey all you guys out there....
Any of you have any recommendations for any good books? I'm feeling like I want to read a book but I don't know which one.
I love reading, but I have a hard time deciding on a book to read because they all look soooo good. I hate going to bookstores because I try to buy every book in there and I don't have that much money with me, and then most of the time, the books I do buy I never end up reading, or I read them and get half way through before I find out they're one of those 12 for a dollar romance novels you find at a garage sale.
Better yet, anybody have a favorite author that has written many good novels? Maybe classics or a new book or something? I do remember reading this book Me Talk Pretty One Day, by David Sedaris, and by no means a classic, but I found it to be very funny and hilarious. Are there any other books out there like that?
I'm just very thirsty for words right now.

I'm on a historical romance kick right now and have filled by shelves with those. They're actually not bad.
Have you read... the Clan of the Cave Bear or Valley of Horses by Jean M. Auel. Those have long been personal favorites. She writes beautifully. I just finished The Dream Thief by Shana Abe and I really enjoyed it (though I didn't much care for The Smoke Thief)... not sure if you would like it though as it's romance (of the paranormal kind).
Sis says that Save Karen (about the broke chick that had the Save Karen website) was a good read... but I have no idea, I didn't even attempt it.

I personally like the Ender series by Orson Scott Card. It's sci-fi, futuresque, but has some interesting ideas about religion and psychology and such. The Pendergast series by Lincoln and Child is pretty good, especially Cabinet of Curiosities. The Repairman Jack series by F Paul Wilson is pretty good too. These are all more sci fi type novels, so if you don't like that genre, you might not like these.

The Ender Series is amazing. I love it. Even JK Rowling seems to have blantantly ripped off the space school as an idea for Hogwarts.

I'm like that too. I have book cases full of books, boxes of books, books at my moms, books in my purse... they're everywhere.

I simply love Jane Austen! Her stories are lighthearted, witty, tragic, plot-filled, wonderful stories of love and love lost and love confused! Emma, Sense and Sensibility, and Pride and Prejudice are among the majority of the best of her works!
Also, there is a book that I always recommend to everyone because everyone I know who has read it loves it, including me!!! It is a book called Reedeming Love by Francine Rivers...It is pretty much my favorite book ever!!!

You should read:
Ferinheight 451 (A Classic)
Burned, Crank, and Glass by Ellen Hopkins
You Remind Me of You
Gingerbread series
Go Ask Alice
Cut by Patrica Mc Cormic
Oh I forgot two!
You should also read Violette and Claire by Francisca Lia Block
(any thing she writes is amazing!)
And you should read Speak
Invisible Monsters and Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk
I haven't read those two but I read Diary by Chuck Palahniuk and it was great.

I could also be deemed a bibliophile, but I'll try to make a very short listing of suggestions:
Diary by Chuck Palahniuk
Speak by Halse Anderson
The Myth Adventures (series) by Robert Asprin (it's a fantasy, but it's the humor that really makes it special and very enjoyable)
Other fantasy series: His Dark Materials (Golden Compass/Subtle Knife/Amber Spyglass), Eragon (i know, it's been suggested already), Chronicles of Narnia.
Into the Night Room by....good ol' whatshisname...
Illusions by Richard Bach (deep, funny, and an easy read)
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Steve Chbosky.
If you like romance, mystery or comedic novels, there is a series that throws all of those genres into one. Janet Evanovich has written a series about her main character, Stephanie Plum, who loses her job and goes to work for her cousin as a Bond Enforcement Agent aka Bounty Hunter. So addictive, this series made me stay up all night and continue reading while laughing and laughing. If you are looking for a good book, check out "One for the Money" by Janet Evanovich. I guarantee that after the first book, you will be hooked.
I really like Freak the Mighty, Harry Potter Series, The Giver, and View from Saturday
when you make a mistake ask god for forgivness, and move on. Just remember not to make the same mistake twice, the wise men didn't become wise by making the same mistakes.
If you have a problem with buying books because you never know which ones to get, I suggest stopping by a public library, if there's one near you. I'm often to be found there.
ANd as for suggestions...if you like fantasy, then absolutely ANYTHING by Tamora Pierce is a must read. And for sci-fi, the Dune Chronicles is great.
And to throw in my favorite book, I suggest Watership Down, by...uh...*runs to look at book*...Richard Adams.
However, I've often found the best way to find treasures is buy scouting out garage sales and yard sales...you can get books cheap, and oftentimes, they're really good. And of course, try to borrow anything you can from friends. ^_^ The wonders of sharing books.
I'm not to sure what you like, but here are some of the books that I've read recently.
1)City of Bones, By Cassandra Clare.
-Funny, witty, sexy, cool Dark Fantasy set in New York
2)Impulse, By Ellen Hopkins
-Don't think this book is for the faint of heart. It brings up some very graphic and
troubling subjects.
3) Keeping You a Secret, By Julie Ann Peters
-Gay fiction
4) The entire Harry Potter series.
5)Beastly and Breathing under water, By Alex Flinn
6)The Perks Of Being a Wall Flower, By Stephen Chbosky
7) Dark Angel, By David Klass
-Not an Fantasy book
8)Carpe Diem, By Autumn Cornwell
-Very funny. A great book especially if you like or have ever dreamed of
traveling to a foreign country.
9) The Shadow Thieves: The Cronus Chronicles, By Anne Ursu
-great book. a good read if you enjoy Greek mythology and don't mind a bit of
a spin on it.
10) The Last Book in The Universe, By Rodman Philbrick
-Great sci-fi type book set in a post apocalyptic worl. I think this book was
banned in some places.
