Online auction giant eBay supports online gambling ban

Just what do eBay, online gambling, excessive moralism, and the Patriot Act have in common?  Apparently, online gambling itself.  According to Fox News (which provides a wonderful back story for this post), PayPal, which was once independently owned, was functionally shut down because customers were able to make "illegal" (functionally legal, but somewhat unaccepted by the cultural norms) purchases using the site.  The Patriot Act, designed to protect this country against terrorists, was once again invoked outside of its intended context.  PayPal was then sold to eBay, which now operates the site and prevents any suspected "immoral activity" from occuring.

According to the story, even a suspicion of the purchase of adult products, alcohol, or gambling funds/tokens will result in a closed account for the new version of eBay.  Now, although there is no hard evidence to support this inductive correlation...yet... eBay seems to be supporting a bill that will make participation in online gambling illegal (currently only running the site is federally illegal, not gambling on it).

I realize that the summation of my post does not constitute a valid, stand-alone argument, but I truly believe that people need to know that eBay seems to be pursuing a moral agenda that includes activities that aren't even classically immoral by the standards of various ethical systems.
