Kids today are so spoiled. The last few days I've been talking to my friends about getting jobs, because now that I'm done with my sports I need to make some money. They say that theyre looking for jobs too. I need a job, I need the money. This summer I'm hoping that I get 2 jobs, 1 full time that I'm already lined up to get and 1 part time that I'm looking for- basically I need money so I won't have a socail life this summer. On the contrary, my friends are very picky about where they work and today one of them said "Yeah, my mom told me to get a job I like and if I cant find one, I shouldnt work because I dont really need a job" and then to get worse, the other one AGREED! What is with this, so many students I've noticed are being babied by their parents who pay for everything for them. Of course there are many exceptions, but I'm surprised of the number who are spoiled. Going to be freshmen in college and never having a job. Theyve never worked a day in their lives!! As parents, how can you expect your children to exceed in college and later finding a job with no previous work experience?? Companies understand that 16 and 17 year olds have never had a job and need a first job, but 18 year olds (adults) whose parents supply everything to them is over the line. They need some financial independence before going out into the real world. In my opinion anyway.

We had a class full of snobby kids, so we (the average kids) decided to poll the class on who had mowed the lawn before. I was the only girl, and only 4 other boys raised their hands. Two of them were the boys who wanted to take the poll. I was so disappointed, I could only stand there while the girls asked me why my parents make me mow the lawn.
I dont think I ever seen a female mow grass before. I did just to mess around for two seconds and I am 22.

On behalf of the kids who are not spoiled, I take offense. Instead of saying "Kids today are so spoiled" you should've said, "Spoiled kids today are so spoiled".
It's true, we need to be more specific with everything or offend someone, somehow.
That word needs to be defined to many people take it lightly. It is so overused. i dont think I am spolied but I have everything i think about wanting. Is that spoiled?

I don't think there is anything wrong with not working if you don't have to. If I didn't have to, I wouldn't, and I know it. However, it is a hindrance to growing up... My friend just got his first job, and he's started college this year. Even though it is work, he already feels rewarded for earning his own. So I guess I'm being ambivalent... It is good to work, to know what it feels like to depend on yourself, but I definitely don't want to judge a person just because they were born into privileged situations.

My dad "spoiled" me my whole life. One time i asked my mom for this really cool toy. The little robot dogs when they came out. my mom got me this bootleg lil dog. i looked at her like she was crazy. I could not believe she thought I would play with a dog with wheels that had this big archaic remote. What a disappointment.
