I’m a pretty open minded person, and believe everyone has the right to have their own opinion on anything. But I have read some of the opinions that people have on here. And I’m curious rather these are really what people truly believe in their hearts or is it all BS? At first I thought people was posting things to get more reads, and as a result get more points for the contest. But now the contest is over, and people are still posting things that when I read it I say to myself, "Are they serious?" I don’t wish to offend anyone, so I will not point out any of these posts. But am I the only one who feels this way? Are these people for real? I want to know everyone else’s opinion on this. Everyone’s honest opinion.

LOL, you're not the only one at all. I can't count the number of times that I've read someone's "opinion" and thought... "there's no way they can possibly be serious..."

i thought that the first day i signed up for this blog. you would think with a name like "progressiveU" you would find aware people demanding change. or at least critical of what shit they see. and it makes me even more upset because these opinions, the ones that you're like "are they for real?", are the same as a good part of the US. and the "values" they show in their opinions are shared with people around the world who have power and exploit it. anyway, i feel you...

I started this of course because the scholarship would be nice...but at the heart of it I really enjoy blogging because it makes me stay on top of things going on in the world (see my post SEX DRUGS AND ROCK AND ROLL) and it makes me think.....also I really like seeing what other people think...even though at times it seems like bs.

I think that there are some people on here that just want the attention so that people will read and respond. If it is offensive they know that someone is going to say something about it. Not really interested in making a change, just want attention
i think you have to understand that when you join an online community like this.. wether or not its a contest... you encounter different kinds of people...
a lot of them do things just to fit in and you'd be surprised to find out that a lot of them are real topics..
you just kind of take is as you go.. learn from the good posts and ignore the bad ones..
