S-A-G-G-I-N, N-I-G-G-A-S

Over the summer I attended CSU for a month and while I was there we went to the Afro-American Museum. Our tour guide informed us of the originality of men sagging their pants. He told us that it began in slavery when African Americans were given hand-me-down clothes that were too big, so they hung off of their behinds.
He also said that during segregation, African American men were told to sag because they were not and would never be men, and only boys showed their under pants.
And he told us about the most recent approach of how it came from prison as well. Men in prison sagged when they were spoken for. And because they weren't aloud to wear belts, considering their suicidal attempts.

WE NEED TO MAKE A CHANGE.. IT ALL STARTS HERE.. IF WE SHOW THEM WERE SOMETHING.. THEY'LL STOP BELIEVEING WE'RE NOTHING.

Sisies in prison are the source for that style. The disaproval of their elders is the main reason it has caught on.

There is nothing to do with segregation or slavery involved.

Nice closing thought.
