It's 2002 all over again

We arm Saddam with chemical and biological weapons knowing he's using them. We sell him the delivery systems so that he can use them on his own people. We even give him us reconaissance to help him maximize the number of Iranians he kills with chemical weapons.

Then we complain about the fact that he has chemical weapons and is using them on his people.

U.N. Sanctions make it impossible for Saddam to keep his weapons programs running, but we tell the rest of the world he has weapons of mass destruction. So we create this huge panic based on lies about Saddam's chemical weapons, nuclear weapons, and connections to terrorist organizations that would allow him to deliver them against US targets.

People say invading will be a disaster and that it'll create more problems than it solves. Hell the book written by Bush's own father accurately predicted the mess we'd be in.

The fact that Iraq is majority Shiite (the same group running Iran) and that if you create a democracy, you'd be putting the Shiites in power of Iraq completely escapes Bush.

He's focused only on getting rid of Saddam.

So we invade.

And now we complain about the fact that the Shiites running Iraq are working with the Shiites running Iran.

This administration is now giving briefings that can't be recorded by officials that can't be named citing evidence that can't be shown and documents that can't be read or coppied to prove that Iranian shiites are arming the Iraqi shiites and those weapons are killing the US servicemen and women that Bush sent to Iraq to put those Shiites in power.

So we now are accusing Iran of causing the chaos in Iraq without any actual evidence, setting up the same scenario we set up for Iraq back in 2002.
