A U.S. Army MH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed in Colquitt County in central Georgia on Thursday during a routine training flight, killing four soldiers, the Army Special Operations Command said. In a statement issued from Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the Army said a fifth crew member was injured and was taken to a local medical facility. It said an investigation into the cause of the crash was under way. An Army spokesman at the Pentagon said the initial report from the scene was that the MH-47, a long-range and heavy-lift Special Operation helicopter, may have struck a television tower. The crash occurred at about 8 a.m., the Army said.
