Theoretically I should have the perfect wedding. Why? Do you ask. Because out of my core group of friends I am the ONLY one not married and as of Monday, I am now the only one without a child. Out of my larger group of friends, I am one of just a few to never walk, skip or jump down the aisle.
I have been in many weddings, nowhere near 27, but many. Plus my dresses were not as ugly! But I have learned something from all these weddings and that is, I have learned what I did not like about them from the bridal party or wedding guest point of view, so now I know what to do to make more people happy. Yeah Yeah, it would be about the bride and groom and not everyone else. But everyone else there would have had an impact on my intended or myself, so they should be happy as well.
As a member of the bridal party here is what I did not like:
~Dresses that I tripped over - my girls will have cocktail length
~Photos - Never given any, my girls will get wedding day photos. They were there too!!
~Shoes that HURT - let them pick out their own
As a wedding guest...
~Having to wait for the bride and groom before we could eat. When I get married let the guest start chowing! No reason to wait for photos and all that.
~The wedding reception WAY after the ceremony. One reception I went to was over four hours after the "I do's" that was WAY too long.
~That period between sitting down and wedding starting can be pretty boring. I plan on having a slide show so people will at least have something to watch. My friend did that and it was great.
Now the wedding cake. I have seen 6 tier cakes. Yeah, I am not going that big. Give me two tiers and a bunch of flat sheets hidden in the back.
I do realize the perfect wedding is only a dream and it will depend on finances and other aspects. But I like to think that I have seen SO many, mine shall go off with very little problems.
Oh.....guess I should find a man to be a groom to help pull this off.

Weddings are so silly. People spend thousands on a celebration that lasts a few hours instead of spending that money on like, buying a house.
I don't think weddings themselves are silly, but people do go way overboard! My friend had the most beautiful wedding on $500.00. I like the idea of a wonderful wedding, but I like the idea MORE of a wonderful house.
