I have come across a fun and easy way to demonstrate my displeasure with the war effort in the Middle East and the inevitable fascism at home that foreign wars bring. This simple method of “waist paper” activism is fun and is an excellent way to exercise and get fresh air.
I start my “waist paper” activism by traveling to the nearest college. Here in St Louis, there are many colleges within a short walk or bus ride from each other. I then proceed to walk to the bulletin boards and remove all the US Army recruitment materials that I can find. I then walk over to the nearest trash can and throw it in after I crumple and tear it up a bit in the unlikely event that a pro-war fascist attempts to reuse the material.
Sometimes I mix it up a bit and write anti-war, pro-libertarian freedom messages on the military recruitment material with a pen or marker instead of disposing of it. Every college has more than one bulletin board so I get plenty of exercise walking around college campuses destroying the garbage that the liars in the US Army recruitment offices put up.
I have never been stopped or confronted, although I was stalked and harassed by the cowardly US Army recruiters for taking a picture once. I plan to continue this enjoyable activity until the cowardly fascist US government puts me in prison. More people should visit college campuses and take down recruiting posers. The reader is urged to destroy US Army recruitment material in libraries, universities and anywhere else it is found.

Sounds like you are the fascist! You're taking away freedom of speech from the recruiters and you're hurting the environment in the process. This sounds pretty childish to me and I'm sure you could find something better to do with your time and energy.
I'm guessing that you're a Christian by the looks of your name. If not, then disregard, but if so, I'd like to know if you proselytize like you're called to do? If so, maybe now you know what it's like for something to be in your face and pushed down your throat. Do you ever stop to think that maybe the people you proselytize to don't want to hear your message about Christianity, just like you don't want to hear about the war? At least the recruiters aren't knocking on your door on a Saturday or cold contacting you in the mall.
If you are a Christian and you don't proselytize, then please disregard and have a blessed day. But you could still stop hurting the environment and denying people their freedom of speech.

The previous poster made a good point. Garbage can be recycled. Feel free to recycle the US Army recruitment garbage that you take down from the bulletin boards. Eliminating army recruitment material saves lives because it hurts the war effort.
Please. You really think their efforts will be slowed by you removing a few posters? It doesn't hurt the war effort, believe it or not, as there are plenty of people willing to go over and fight.
And really, it is a childish move to remove posters or deface them just because you don't agree with them.
And unless I'm completely misunderstanding you, the word is not 'waist'. That's a part of your anatomy.

The US Troops are enemies of freedom, not promoters of freedom. Entering forighn lands in violation of international law does not spread freedom.
I have been a fan of the brave Islamic resistance ever since the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan. As a child I still remember reading of the actions of the heroic Islamic resistance against the Soviet troops. Around that time most American “patriots” fully supported the Islamic Jihad. There were even some well known patriot mercenaries that fought along side with the brave Islamic fighters driving the Soviet troops out of their land. The US CIA also helped the Islamic heroes.
The Islamic movement should realize that the entire United States has not turned against them. There are still American patriots the support their cause and pray for the day both the brainwashed American Corporate Crusaders and the Jewish Zionist troops are driven out of their lands.
Our hearts go out to the brave Islamic fighters that give their lives defending their lands. There was a time when Americans wanted to leave alone those that also wished to be left alone. The invading of foreign lands in the name of the “war on terror” is the fraud that will finally end the American empire.
I get not supporting the war. I really do. I don't want to EVER have to go to war, though I would enjoy the opportunity to kill a couple of people...
But to keep people from being able to say what they want? Seriously. WTF is that? And you don't have to support the war to support the troops. You think these soldiers ENJOY getting shot at!?

There are such better ways to stop the recruiting process. As an anarchist, I've seen or heard about a few of these in action. They're far more fun, more productive, and less time-consuming:
1) Ever have a recruiter set up shop in your high school or college? Set up a counter-recruitment table right next to him. If you really want to get your point across, print out some literature:

(these are the opt-out forms. The 2001 No Child Left Behind Act made it manditory for high schools and colleges to make students' contact intormation available to recruiters unless the students filled out an opt-out form. If nothing else, print these out.
2) Is there a recruiter office in your town or city? Get a bunch of anti-war folks together and hold an impromptu protest outside the building. If you get 20 or so people, it should be effective. After about 10 minutes, the recruiter office will shut down for the day (at least, they do in DC).

I am so sick of those that call themselves “anarchists” that worship a system or way of doing things.
I do agree that EVERY one of the ideas the "anarchist" listed was good. My idea is also a very good way to fight fascism. There are many ways to strike against fascism and as “anarchists” we must realize that only by using many methods will we bring down fascism and repression.
Shame on the previous poster for being a “system anarchist” that is obsessed with rules and regulations while the police state continues to grow and consume more Americans. SHAME ON YOUR FACISM!!!!
By destroying government property you aren't informing anyone and only contributing to higher taxes.
