I created this list of things to do while we are still alive, so that we can live to be better people who make the most of life, treasuring all the precious moments. Life is but a vapor, meaningless if everything you do is selfish. Do some of these things on this list for others, and your memory will live in people's minds linger than you will be on earth
1. write an autobiography on the life of your family, then pass it on so that generations to come will remember you and your family
2. volunteer by doing something you are passionate about
3. visit an orphanage, see the world from their point of view
4. be an extra in a movie, just for the heck of it
5. plant a tree in memory of people you care about
6. see a shooting star
7. learn sign language, then use it to communicate with people in "another world"
8. start a non profit organization, club, or group
9. name a star after a family member, officially
10. plan a surprise party for someone you care about
11. watch the sun rise and set all in the same day
12. bless a needy family during the holiday season with dinner, gifts, etc
13. pay for a random person's purchases, as an act of kindness for the day. You'll be surprised at their reaction. Many people will brighten up after a bad day. What goes around comes around.
14. sign up for a competition. See what you are capable of. You never know until you try.
15. visit the town/country of your birth
16. witness a butterfly coming out of a cocoon... forget about the t.v. experience.
17. be in some sort of protest, ex: human rights
18. create a family tradition/heirloom to pass on
19.

I agree with some things on this list. Some I disagree with with.
As for 1- I think family history should be preserved, but (because I can be small minded and petty and my laptop with all my school work just crashed on me) that's not an autobiography
3- kind of weird. I'd rather do something about it for them than expirience it myself.
4- Trust me- don't. It's hot, it's boring and the food is terrible. (This isn't from personal expirience, but I've got two family members in the business.)
5-I perfer donating to a charity in their name
6-Ever see a meteor shower- Quite impressive
7- I don't think it's nessesary for a full life, but no objections
9- see 5
13- actually, I think most people would just think you're weird. That's the world we live in.
16- One of the dullest things I ever had to sit through in 5th grade
19) I'm a personal fan of _____myself
Well, here's my list
Live your life in a way that grants you satisfaction and happiness so long as you don't harm others.

About the orphanages, its quite an experience. So many times, people walk in and these kids rush at you, clinging to you, saying Mommy, or Daddy! Its a heart wrenching experience because you know you can't adopt them all. That's why it will motivate you to do something about it.
About the purchases, I never did it myself but several people I know did, and you're right. People aren't used to random acts of kindness.
this is a great list especially for someone who is trying to make a difference
My new years resolution is to complete at least one item on that list. What about you guys?
>>>visit an orphanage, see the world from their point of view- You see I'd want to help them, not just see how terrible everything is. Just showing most of those kids love and spending time with them regularly would make a real difference.
Oooh, 19. Adopt a cat or dog, there's plenty that need good homes! =) Or a kid, they need good homes too.
Caity =)
The thing about visiting orphanages, now that I think about it, is that it is kind of cruel. Kids expect future parents when people visit and thats like dangling meat in front of your pet dog. Maybe its better to get a volunteer position there.
