Have you ever wondered what the meaning of life is and why god put us here? Is there something that we are supposed to do while we’re on this green earth??? I’ve often thought of this as I live my life and wonder if I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing. Then again is any of that predetermined? I find a lot of lifes “expectations” are just that. Expectations. These are societies expectations ofwhat we are supposed to do and how we are suppsoed to behave. Get married, have kids, have a job, blah blah blah. I think sometimes God or that higher power wanted to see what would happen if they just put a bunch of people down here to see what we would do. Would we all kill each other or would we figure it out? Sometimes I feel as though existence is aimless. We’re all just wandering around bitting our time till its our time go. Do we find meaning to our lives or do we just live it? I for one do not want to be one of those people who lives to be 100 years old. I don’t know but the individuals quality of life just doesn’t seem to hold up if you can’t even get yourself to the bathroom anymore! For myself I do want to leave something behind. I don’t want to litter the world with children. There’s already enough of that. I’d rather build something, train people and give something back to society that will be long lasting. I think that’s why I am in education and doing what I am doing. I also realize that if I spend a ll my time figuring out the meaning of life….I’m not really living….see ya!
The meaning of life

I see your thinking though. This world can be pretty shitty sometimes; why bring someone else in the world? Why not just try to improve it instead.
wouldn't stop me from having babies though.
Hollywood is a place where they'll pay you a thousand dollars for a kiss and fifty cents for your soul.
Well, according to Buddhist thought, there is no separation between any being and anything else. The Buddha used to use the word "stream" for a person, indicating that they were just part of a whole. Each individual's "purpose" is to bring peace and happiness to the world and the world's peace and happiness enrich's that individual's own life. Therefore, Buddhists strive to do no evil, do good, and do good for others in their daily lives. Those simple but incredibly difficult things are what we believe our purpose to be.
And...I just went on a religious rant there. In other news, adoption is what I plan on doing. There are tons of kids out there without homes and so maybe your purpose is to enrich the life of one of them.

Hi.
I should get back to buddhism because that is my philosophy of life.
By religion my ancestors practiced buddhism.
I dont' know I think I'm supposed to work with children to help make a better society or contribute to it.

Working with children is certainly a noble goal and I imagine it would enrich your life a great deal. Good luck with your endeavors!
