If everyone were blind would we still be making arguments about Hilary and Obama. If we were blind, race would not be an issue in the campaign because you wouldn't be able to see the candidates. Yes Obama is a black mand and Hilary is a white woman but put that all aside for this one time. We have every race fighting and dying in the war (for what because I have no clue) and color hasn't been an issure for them, so why should it be an issue in this political campaign. Those of us who are voting for the first time, primarily college students, should bypass this race issue and vote for the best candidate based on their campaign speeches and what they "promise" for we all know we have to see it to believe it. This will be the first of first. We will ether have the first black president or the first woman president. (In my comment earlier previously stated we also have women dying in this war.) Please don't base your votes on what you think should happen first. Base your votes on logical views that the candidates bring to the tabel. Education, womens right, homosexuality, GAS, the arts and legal rights. THIS WILL THE MOST IMPORTANT VOTE EVER. So for once LEAVE COLOR out of the arguments.

I agree with voting on their logical views and qualifications. Color, religion, male or female should not be the focus on making your choice for the best candidate. This is a very important decision and does need to be focused on who will serve our Country as the best President. Good point.
I also agree that color doesn't matter or sex. Yes this will be the most important vote ever because the next president will detemine whether we will get out of a recession or go into a depression and hopefully will change what president Bush has screwed up.

Ok I agree that race or sex does not matter. Its the issues at hand. However, it needs to be recognized that we are about to make history. Our nation has progressed from sexism and racism to acceptance that women and black people are being respected enough to be at such a high position. This is the only reason why media and everyone else is making a big stink out of it. But, you do have a wonderful point. We need to focus what they stand for and what they are bringing to the table. Some people just can't get past the physical you know.
