I'm not sure if I'm alone on this but I have noticed an abundant amount of strongly christian bloggers on this website. I started to notice on the comments how many people would strongly express their christian observations over any and all topics. I am not saying it's a bad thing. All in all the bible teaches people good lessons and there is a wisdom to a person strong in their faith. I just wonder what is the reason that you see so many god fearing people on the sites today.
My first observation is maybe because they are less likly to be drinkers or drug users that they spend their time in a more constructive way. but this is not saying i believe that all faithful believers are devote christians, i understand that many christians dont practice the entire religion, there's to much to follow. Is it because they are more attentive in world issues that they hunt through the resourses on the net? I'm pretty sure there is no where in the bible saying "thou shalt not blog," and I guess it wouldn't matter unless it were on the sabbath. But as much as I hate to add another styreotype to the pile of christian styreotypes, it just doesn't seem like a christian act.

...are you serious?
How could something as morally neutral as blogging create this opinion?
I don't think that Christians are supposed to refrain from electronics on the Sabbath.
Religiously, the most vocal groups on the sight by far are Christians and Atheists.
"-bah!! Pardon the "bah!" I feel several "bahs!", but out of courtesy I only say one."
H.P. Lovecraft
Blogging seems like a Christian act because any Christian worth his merit will get up and voice their opinion about things going on in the world their God created. According to the bible God created the Earth, right? Humans should therefore appreciate this earth and the things going on in it. A good Christian would therefore make themselves involved in SOMETHING. Yes, even blogging.
Plus you must remember the sheer quantities of Christians in the world who have available internet access.
haha ive actually noticed the same thing! no offense to christians at all what so ever! i used to be one, but thats a whole different thing...feel free to check out my blog if you wanna see why or whatever
You haven't been here long enough if you think Christians are the most vocal of individuals. Of our three directors, two are pagans, and the other, myself, is... a deist, I guess. Not a Christian, but not really part of any other organized religion either. A few of our moderators are atheists, we have a Jew or two (well, maybe only one now that we've kicked the inactive people out). There's a few Muslims that were at one time pretty active on the site, and the most vocal in religious debates tend to be the atheists and the Christians. The rest of us just kinda sit back and watch.
I'm slightly confused about this comment, though: i understand that many christians dont practice the entire religion, there's to much to follow
There isn't much for Christians to follow... you go to church, follow the 10 commandments, read the Bible... Everything else is really left up to interpretation.

You have good point, and I guess I should have been broader in the blog or mabey more exact to prevent confusion. I don't know whether the christians were the MOST vocal, even though they are a very large contributor to the website, but I don't think the directors religion matters to the christian blogging population, nor does it mean that their religions effect the type of people that sign up. I, at least, didn't check the history of the alumni to see if they had the same views as me.
As for the amount of dedication it takes to be a christian, read the book Ten Thousand Shall Fall and tell me there are time when being a christian isn't hard. Some people have toruble missing sunday football for church, if the simpsons count(JK). I suppose it isn't the most demmanding religion, but that doesn't make salvation as simple as going to church and following the commandments.

I bring up the religion of the directors and faculty members because they are, without a doubt, the most active people on the site. So while their religion doesn't affect everyone else's religion, they are a good example of how the most active people on the site are not necessarily Christians.
I have no doubt that being a Christian is hard at times, but you make it sound like there's 613 commandments you are required to follow, which isn't true. There aren't nearly as many rules in Christianity as there are in other religions, and comparatively, it's a pretty easy religion to follow. Which explains why the majority of Americans consider themselves Christian.

I see what you mean. I'm not sure what my opinion is worth to the directors but I imagine at least a good amount considering the type of website they are running. So, if you think they care to hear it and you are able to communicate with them, please tell them I say thank you for creating such a wonderful area where people like you and me can bs about this kind of stuff. I applaud their efforts. I enjoy it more than anything I have found on the internet and am glad someone put a blogging site to constuctive use. I'm sorry if I came across strongly on the effort it takes to be a christian and your right, it doesn't take much and is probably the reason that americans pick it. But you make it seem like it is as simple as doing it but compared to the dedication of monks I can see how you would see the christian religion as easy.

I didn't suspect that so much emotion would be put into the responses. I wasn't saying it was a bad thing, I believe I mentioned I appreciate the views expressed by christian bloggers. as for not using electronics on the sabbath I know my grandma would box my ears(figurativly) if she knew I was on the internet on the sabbath, but I suppose she is more of the old fashion christian. As I said I didn't think that the bible had anything against the internet I just wanted to put the observation that there were many christian postings out there but I whole heartedly appreciate the feed back.
