So, I just got off the phone with one of my comrades in music, AJ. He's sort of taught me the ins and outs of a music program that's helped me create a lot of my music.
Once again, he told me, he's moving back to Montana. Now, this is an event that happens about every 8 months, and is never too surprising. However, I sure hope he has it together because this guy has battled with depression and drug addiction: i.e. the things that some crazy-ass-awesome artist typically faces at his age (as deemed by pop culture). This guy is so great at music he can pick up any instrument and play it eighty times better than I could without ever seeing that instrument before.
I'm pretty greatful for what he's taught me because I'm probably one of those people that try's really hard at music and succeeds but by all natural musical standards (telling the difference between notes, being crazy about tuning, knowing what notes that are being played) should not be playing music. He's taught me to challenge the norms and totally mess stuff up if I think it will benefit the song.
More than anyone else I think I can actually have a casual conversation of pure music (although he throws conspiracy theories involving marketing strategies into it quite a lot) without trying for however long until we're interrupted by some outside source.
I know a lot of other musician's have a sort of person like this...
SO, SHARE YOUR STORY.
(sorry, I had no other conscious way of making that part stand out without seeming threatening with the all caps, I'm really not that threatening... I'm as skinny as a walking stick)

my dad is like your freind, hes bin into music since he was young and hes collected gutairs, drums, equipment, ect. since then. hes got closets full of valuable antiuqe gutairs, some signed by great gutairists like joe walsh and eric clapton.
hes also a natural, hes played almost every instrument at least once or twice. he is an amazing gutairist and bass player, as well as a great drummer.
he can listen to a song and immediately tell you what notes it is and can play it as if hes been practicing it for weeks. yet he has trouble reading music?
Reading music is like learning a language. the older you get the harder it is to learn
