We need to get our emotions out here people!

"I feel angry!"
"I feel sad."
"I feel happy!"

Some of the most common emotions we know. You don't always FEEL things though but instead use an "I feel" statement to convey a deeper implication. At this address, http://www.mytherapistnc.org/emotions.htm, is a list of many emotions.

Ex: "I feel like we've been seeing too much of each other"
This isn't what you feel, it is what you think.
You would want to say, "I think we have been seeing too much of each other, I feel confined.

We all need to start working on our emotions in America. We are always tip toeing around issues and subjects when it comes to communication with significant others (not limited to romance, includes friends and family).

We say things like, "That kind of made me mad" rather than "That made me irritated"

Learning to use more or less intense version of the words happy, angry, and sad could really improve relationships and make communicating a more pleasant experience.

I just though this would be a useful blog to some people. Really take a look at that list though! You may find an emotion you have never even heard of, who knows? I believe communication is a vital part of life that we should all pay more attention too, and that we should all just take a second to better our interpersonal communication for us and others.

I went and looked at the site you suggested above. What a wonderful website. There is a lot of useful information there. I did see a marriage therapist years ago and found that rewording what you are trying to say can make a big difference. This is great information. Thank You!

Most people aren't showing their emotions properly anymore and it is leaving people asking "what really is wrong with you." I have no problem conveying my emotions at all, I love feeling those emotions and expressing them. I rarely get mad, angry, or infriated unless it really is a big issue. I believe being mad all the time at little things is a waste of time. I will look at that site. Good blog.

Something people should know about:

Thank you! Glad you liked it.
And yes, people also don't understand that you allow yourself to become angry, people don't make you angry.

It's a shopping list of feelings. The next time my *frustration* bottles up and threatens to uncork, I'll revisit your link and work on describing the feeling in clearer terms.

Thank you! Great post.

I have always found that I can't be less than honest about my feelings. However, I have a problem with accuracy. I will generally tell my friends, lovers, etc "I feel sorta like _____." They understand what I'm getting at when we talk about the details.

I'm sure that some of the people I know would not know what a few of the emotions are on this site. I usually make up my own words to describe things since it can make a lot of sense to them. If I use the right word, it might even break up the tension.
