Recently, a friend of mine had a problem with another friend.
This all got me to thinking: If we're just straight-forward with each other, we wouldn't have misunderstandings and problems.
We have these political problems because countries' leaders are ambiguous about their positions/plans/etc. I understand. I understand. There ARE such things as classified government secrets that are MEANT to be kept secret for the protection of the greater good. However, what I'm thinking about is when people in power are not completely straight-forward about their stances on certain issues or plans of action for various problems. It would be a lot nicer to know the bare facts, not sugar-coated information meant to entice us. Also, without so much ambiguity, maybe we would all start trusting each other more.
How many times have you gotten into an unnecesssary fight because someone was not straight-ofrward about something? Wouldn't it have been easier to just be honest and clear? Both parties would have been saved a lot of grief.
I guess what I'm saying here is that issues with interPERSONAL relationships can be related to issues with interNATIONAL relations. Obvious, right? If we think about things in terms of how we treat each other and view each other as individuals, we should be able to apply that to how we treat and view nations.
Then again, that's not exactly that easy because you end up in a realm of generalizations, history, mixtures of cultures, differences in histories and experiences, and overall different views and actions.
This might be a bit tougher than I thought.

I don't see too many progressing into interpersonal relations very openly or honestly. I do. I don't think it's worth the hassle of lying or faking. I speak my mind, and then sit back and listen to what others are saying about other people.
International and interpersonal relations.... I can see where you're going with this. I think it's a nice idea, but it seems to me the international relations are just as much of a pissing contest as interpersonal.
