Caffeine: Brain Stimulator to Social Stimulator

Each morning I drive east on Main Street on my way to start the daily grind as an honors high school student at my local high school.  Many (including myself) marvel at my ability to begin each day with my outspoken opinion, free-spirited mind set, and total immersion into the music world.  I owe this all to three things: a grande` Americano with two shots of carmel and the daily newspaper.  Without The Coffee Cricket, self labeled as a community coffee house, my three daily essentials would not be possible.  Similar to coffee houses in England during the Age of Reason, local coffee joints have established themselves once again as leaders of progressive social influence.

The first London coffee shop during the Age of Reason was opened by a Turkish entrepreneur simply because he had a love for the drink (Macaulay).  The businessmen who followed suite all shared this dream and added to the coffeehouse-owner’s-dream: a place for people to meet, relax, and enjoy themselves.

The hit T.V. series,  Friends, which some scholars say represent the epitome of today’s modern culture, often find the sextet of characters at their local coffeehouse, Central Perk.  The fictitious coffee shop represents the millions of Americans who, on a daily basis rendavous at their own local coffee joint for social purposes.  Each clique of friends in both centuries choose their favorite shop based on what service a particular cafe offers: some cater to musicians by providing practice rooms down the hall, while others provide vegetarian and glutin-free food along side the coffee.

Today, cafes may not have such an eminent political position as they did in Age of Reason London, but they still provide free education, making coffee drinking cliental thought-provoking citizens.  The educated citizens then choose to vote which shapes the government.

So go support your local coffee joint:

you'll get some good joe, social stimulation, and a little caffine buzz.

I agree with your beautiful critique of coffee and its postive infurence on social interaction.

It's impossible to be an artist and a bread winner at the same time. Sometimes I think I oughta chuck the whole business.
