Win or Lose: You're still a team

Win or lose, you're still a team. I'm tired of going to my local high schools baseball games and seeing the team members toss the bats as a way to vent their frustration. We haven't won a game all season, in fact, if you were to total our scoring points it would add up to 7 total. Tonight, they played hard, members got injured, they sacrificed by bunting, and so forth. And still, they didn't win. As I walked past the dug out, I over heard the coach saying something to the extent of no matter what the score is, you're still a team. The pitcher was blaming the catcher, the catcher complained because he wasn't this weeks designated hitter and so forth,.. Why try to play the blame game? Why not accept it and grow from it? Because all of the team members hate one another or feel some type of competition within the team itself. No matter the score, who missed what, who didn't catch on second etc, you're still a team. How can you play to win, when you can't even get along with the guy sitting next to you on the bench? In my opinion, if you can't tolerate the loss, don't play the game. The players get frustrated and they let the audience see that. I don't enjoy feeling the tension, so don't put it on the field. Anyways, win or lose, you're still a team. After all, winning is the entire objective, you have to enjoy yourself as well.

School sports are very competitive, some schools should'nt only focus on winning, it isnt reasonable to play just to win, there will always be a loser.

High schoolers should play hard, but not just to win. They will gain more from enjoying the game they are playing rather than gettng frustrated when they loose. Also, if they only worry about winning, and they start making errors, then the errors will get to their heads and make them nervous that they aren't going to win. If I had a dime for every time I heard these words, Id be rich, but here it goes. Calm down. Its just a game.
