I've known about the Political Compass survey for quite some time and have taken it in the past. I don't know if anyone else has encountered it before. It throws other factors into the mix instead of just relying on the traditional social scale that we're accustomed to seeing.
Here is the International Chart based on what world figures have voiced as their positions on certain issues:
And here is my personal result after taking the test:
Economic Left/Right: -5.63
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.79

Another site I did not know about and just encountered has been YourMorals.org where, to quote the site, "you can learn about your own morality
while contributing to scientific research on moral psychology." I have yet to register there but I'm going to try approach it as unguarded as I can to keep my answers genuine and so I don't dismiss what the evaluation has to say of me without giving it a chance. I've been raised a Protestant but I try to maintain my the basis for my morality as secular as I can; especially when it comes to public policy like gay marriage and abortion--things which I do approve of. They may not be the all encompassing determining issues of morality or politics but they do dominate political discussion in election years. How much credibility or value you place in these is in your discretion but I found the Political Compass results to be accurate of what I feel are my positions.

i took the test and it was mostly right for me too. thanks for adding it on your blog!
They put me as a left leaning Libertarian, which is correct. Another political test stuck me right it the center, which is correct, I suppose, in it's own way.
