Smoldering Faith

May be it was February... no, it was March.

Back in January, it was easy to be excited about the election year and campaigning for change. However, as of late, my passion has been extinguished by the grime of mudslinging and the media's nauseating focus on (what I think are) irrelevant issues. It is terribly discouraging, leading me to question--is there anyone really, really eligible to lead this country?

Well of course, that is why they campaign--to convince us skeptics! But to see our politicians so distracted by red herrings, to hear leaders speak such hollow words, to find their plans to revive this weary nation so demonstrative and short-sighted... I ask again, is there anyone really responsible, wise, moral, and eligible to guide the nation?

Party politics have failed Madison's original vision of checks and balances--rather, it seems they have worked divisively, leaving the nation without any actual changes or solid solutions. How can our nation move forward as it bickers and defames, chasing after petty diversions? We sit stagnant--the world watches and wonders (and moves forward, despite their own differences)...

I wonder how we can put our unique perspectives and beliefs to good use toward a common purpose? There are bigger issues at home and bigger threats abroad than all this lip service.

first off, this blog is really well written and I think the use of a some what expanded vocabulary drives the point home even more that all we are getting is lip service. I don't think the major issues are being covered either. I mean, sure I can find out what the major policies are for each candidate, but not without looking for it. These should be the things everyone is talking about, not if Hillary looks feminine enough or if Baracks's reverend was wrong. Those aren't the issues that are going to impact our country come November.
