When i talk to most people about reading its usually discussing the latest issue of vogue or allure. Which okay i love a good issue of allure, but seriously, coming from a girl who has been reading since she was in the womb, it is ridiculous how many people think that the only time you should be reading is for class assignments.  Of course if you only read the books they assign you in school you are not going to like reading because they are not necassarily something you are going to like. Though some of my favorite books are ones that i came upon through school assignment. The great gatsby and the beans trees  for instance. I cant say that i liked The grapes of wrath. The book store is a spectrum of different types of knowledge and topics.  You arent going to like all of the topics, but there are certain topics you will have a profound passion for. Luckily for me i pretty much love all different types of books.  Thats probably because im a person that pretty much loves everything. I just think its unfortunate that so many people view reading as a chore. I would reccomend books such as princess by jean sasoon. I also loved my sisters keeper by jodi picoults. Forgive me for the spelling. Some fun books would be anything by meg cabot which dont have to do with intellect or intelligence just about womanhood and growing up.  Im guessing most of the people who read this love to read anyways so this blog is probably falling on deaf ears.

I love to read but books that are assigned in class can sometimes be hard to get through. I've found that I like the books after I'm done reading them for AP English. Sounds weird, I know, but that's when I gain a respect for the ideas mentioned.

Take for example the book Grapes of Wrath. I hated reading that at times because it was seven hundred pages of uneducated southern drawl. But when I wasn't focusing on the quizzes or tests, it was enjoyable.

I very much enjoy reading. There is no harm at all in reading. I mostly read Harry Potter. Just like movies I read the same books over and over again. I like the adventure that comes from most of the books that I have read. The Scarlet Letter was so long and so drug out that I could not stand it. I had to read it for an honors english class with the toughest teaacher in the school. Of course since I almost fell asleep reading it, I did horribly on the tests. I also like The Great Gatsby and The Adventures of Charlotte Doyal. But my favorite book is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire!!!
